Angry Glove box locked and wont open...

and my g/f anniversary gift is in there

I was able to lock it, on the first try it didn't lock right away, so I turned the key around (not that should change anything) and it locked. Now the same key I used to lock it wont unlock it.

Does anyone know of any tricks to opening it? I felt like I could pry it open, but then that would break the door and possibly more!

its a '06 if that makes a difference

Just take it to a car wash or valet. They can help you get it open.

Try your other key?
Try spraying a little PB Blaster in there.

I had a door lock on my 240sx seize up and I couldn't open the driverside door anymore!! I couldn't even replace the lock because the door has to be open to do that. Anyway, I soaked the lock mechanism with PB and viola! The door unlocked and opened. It was magical.

Uhh yea, probably the best stash spot on our cars.

I put my gf's Xmas present in there, it's a good spot that they'll never find! Good luck getting it open.

Well its locked pretty well, trying to pry it open did not work to well, got it to flex maybe an inch on either side of the lock.

The only spare I have is at my parents, who live 45 mins away, and I just got back from there house when I realized it did not work. And don't have time to go back before tomorrow.

Maybe ill try my lock picking skills haha

Sounds like you'll be using a hammer and a screwdriver.

Good news, I was able to pry the edge open just enough to squeez my hand and arm in and pull the present out haha.

So if you have anything really valuable and small it can be taken even if it is locked.

But yes, the glove box is still locked, and lock picking is a lot harder than youtube made it look.

If it's stuck... and you have the key... how would picking the lock solve your problem?
