I'd bet 13.4-13.8 depending on which track you go to.

Unleaded pump gas weighs 6.53lbs per gallon so a nearly empty tank in a Z will be 100lbs lighter than a full tank Z.

Because fuel is dispensed in gallons. We are still in America. Engines are measured in liters because they are foreign usually. Most domestic guys use cubic inches!

Dude, you need to swap the brakes off of your old lady's car and onto your Z. She'll never know the difference.

LOL, so, so true. Bet if you did it, she wouldn't notice, and the only way she would is if her calipers weren't colored all of a sudden. I did notice that the brembos seem to be cheaper on the G35.

Now that I don't know. When you find out let me know!

Yea, lol. I have told her I was going to do this before. I will take mine and paint them orange with a little stencil Brembo symbol and slap those bad boys on there. Hehehe. I also want her HIDs. Her mom has a QX4 that she is about to sell. I am gonna get reaaally sneaky and take the HIDs off of there before she gets rid of it. I guarantee she wouldn't notice that. Does anyone know if the QX4 HIDs are similar to the G and Z HIDs? Something else I could do is take the LSD from my girls car and put it on mine (I have no idea what is involved in this.) Listen to me over here plotting. ::EVIL GRIN:: What really sucks is the fact that my girl benefits from my car and I don't benefit from hers. She is about to get my intake tube when I get my cold air. She will eventually get my springs. I am sure we will find out in the future that more stuff on the Z will benefit the G.

The most efficient things considering investment/weight ratio would be to get rid of anything you can live without mats, plastic in the trunk... Than light battery, they are pretty cheap, than CF rear hutch, pantera style, with narrow window (this way you have nice glass window but only 1/5th of the previous glass weight. Hutch won't be cheap, but savings will be 100lbs+

Wheels are the next thing if you still have the money left ;-) Ger real light wheels and light tires. 17".

Than CF doors without permanent glass, no motors. But I wouldn't call it cheap project at this stage ;-)))

The light came on the other day telling me to refill the windshield pisser fluid, so I did. It took a full gallon, right over the right front wheel!

There's ~8 lbs. for you! Way out in a corner where it really hurts.

take the wheels off...get out of the car...no steering wheel, seats, gas, engine, remove the doors, hood, windshield, mirrors, dash, shift ****, side panels, rear quarter panels, air filter, exhaust, z emblems, pedels, and clutch.......just run with the frame and lighter brake calipers and rotors......should be pretty light...but i could be wrong!! oh and run it by remote control...might have to get a pretty heavy antennea...but if you aim it backwards..you might reduce the drag......

hope this helps!!

Sport Compact Car did an article a while back where they took some POS Camry or something and tried to make it a 12-second car for free. They stripped everything, took off all of the body panels, cut off the roof, etc. Basically removed everything that didn't make the car go.

Pretty funny -- and it worked!

Why not sell the beast and run the quarter?! I figure under 5 minutes for us slugs. Saves on gas, insurance, the pressure to do mod's, garage space, dynos, rev limits, trannies, tire featuring, grease streaks, waxing, track time, speeding tickets, Z-envy, haggling amongst forum members on mod bennies, complaints from the other half on the gobs the fun we're having, ......

Nah, let's keep the 3200 lb beast and put up with the fun .....

Just slap on all the Amuse dry carbon parts: bumper, hood, fenders, doors, and rear hatch. Then, replace your exhaust with titanium ones (either Amuse or Fujitsubos). Then replace your seats with lightweight carbon fiber racing seats. There you go, you've dropped your weight down to 2850lbs without sacrificing any creature comforts.

Of course, it's going to cost roughly $23k to do this, but I'm sure there is someone out there willing to do it! Man, if only I could win a small jackpot...
