see im a driver, i know the extent of my driving for the most...i can ride the dotted line to the point my side mirrors fold in from how tight the squeeze is... if u cant take the risk...and dont want the money, leave the racing alone and take your car out for show on the weekend. we have two different reasons for having a high performance vehicle.
Dude... you live in NEW YORK. Do you even have challenging roads? ROFL@ street racers. Why don't you track your car, or take it up a couple mountain roads. I guarantee your car wont last long in the real cuts with your street racing "skills".

Your built civic ran 13's after serious mods, and was still FailWD. The Z runs 13's stock, and is RWD. Z owners don't have to mod their cars to make them fast, they start off that way. The reason most Z drivers don't heavily tune their cars compared to honda owners is because honda mods are inexpensive just like the cars. To tune a 350z extensively it will cost much more money. Keep the shitty mods to hondas please, the Z doesn't need any more rearward visibility, you just need to learn how to drive it.

Edit: Street racers try to hard, and still fail. Last car meet I was at where people were talking about street racing, someone totaled a Z.

has anyone here EVER really been to a street race in NY? nobody is ever in real danger...if im driving like a moron speeding through traffic as if i were in a movie thats just someone being an ***. but hey, sometimes u just have to...many of the racers out here dont even have licenses, drive in cars with fake plates. u get caught u go to jail, the car gets pounded, etc.
The street race scene in NY isn't like what it use to be... Fountain Ave, Rockaway, GreenPoint, Conduit, franny Lew, Hunts Point etc... Those were the days.. You weren't even in 10 yet........

video of closed road racing in NY. you're right, hondas are cheap....and easy to make fast....light weight and inexpensive....so when i talk about getting a z you tell me to stick to hondas? lol sure bud...becqause you're paying for my car note...i tracked my car. and yes, weaving traffic is daily driving so i dont understand why people are putting me down for it.

and yes...a semi built civic runs 13s while a z does it stock...so lets do the math

Civic shell $800
fully built K series motor with tranny shift linkage etc and a tune. $4k
paint job $1000
roughly $6-8k total depending on what i aim for...

$15k for a used 03 350....

......so why do u care that a z comes stock doing 13s? or a semibuilt civic doing 13's....?

u think z's are fast? youtube 350z vs Civic and sit back....there are some civics that beat gallardos....

i believe in built not bought....smh...it takes the fun out of it...you build it, race it, sell it or lose it....and do it over again....

ive seen videos and my parents lived the huntspoint flat lands days...i wish i was there....honestly the street scene in NY is getting out of hand...too many people setting things up to put on a show....too many chearleaders now....all talk and nobody ponys up the dough..smh...

ive seen civics running 8's just as well as turbo'd and built sentras and built vdubs....13's aint **** bro...lol

weaving in and out of traffic is not daily driving

switching lanes every once in a while is

but you can cause alot of problems/accidents to the other cars when youre constantly cutting people off

but yeah, just do you.

Been a little while since I posted last, figured this would be a good time. OP as a former New Yorker, i can honestly say, you make us look bad. Having that "extra couple inches to make a pass" on the streets is reckless. Doesn't matter your perception of a safe passing distance, what matters is the perception of those around you. You cut a soccer mom off, she slams the breaks and gets rear-ended, people get hurt...because you have five mirrors in your car...ur an idiot.
The "street racing scene" in NY is a joke compared to what it used to be. There's a reason for that..we all grew up. It was at it's prime when I used to frequent Hunts Pointe or head down to NJ to Ave P. with my old *** 92 GSX running 10.80's on DR's. Watching cars get impounded, people getting tickets, and losing a friend of mine to stupidity got me and alot of other people out of that scene quickly.
How old are you? 19? Street Race and you get props from those around you, other idiot 19 year olds, get a little bit older and everyone just looks at you like your an idiot. These "trends" that will catch on to the Z community will most likely be China made ebay parts once the car drops value again, you'll get props from idiots for your mods, we'll all just laugh and shake our heads.
4K for a fully built k series? Funny, your looking at 4k just for a stock k20, trans, ecu, harness, mounts, axles to make it work in an EG or EK civic. And thats at a decent price. Don't even bother bringing up k24/20 hybrids, they cost just as much. All said and done all motor 13 sec hondas are worthless at high speeds. They pull decent ET's dues to low torque and light weight, meaning they get out of the hole well, match them against a stock 350 for top end, they'll get walked everytime, they just run out of steam.

ok so im kinda getting sick of this thread. it was completely hijacked...

quick and painless points to end this discussion:

1) getting a Z is more like a step up from me street racing and doing stupid things, before i could afford a fender bender or two in a $1200 shell car...with this Z...it will definitely see track if challenged....i wouldn't be able to afford to total it or rebuild it.

2) Yes i was that reckless 18 year old driver with a license fress off the printer....so were many here at one point. whether it be a Honda, nissan, or american car.

3) Street racing is ILLEGAL and in no way do i support any member here to do it, but if u do it, than thats you, i cant be a hypocrite because ive done it for a while, but now that i have a more expensive car with greater potential, it will mostly be kept on a leash till im in a safe "racing" environment when i do choose to "race". closed roads, tracks, etc.

4) I see people post, how would my -- look with --, which -- should i go with,i simply did the same with my thread. i posted something i seen look nice, and shared it with the forum.

5) for the douches wishing death upon someone, i really hope ur children have aids just as much as u wish id be plastered on a emergency lane.

idk....i think that cleared most of it up.

Back to the panoramic mirrors. if u like it bump the thread, if u dont, move on to the next.

if you're from NY and you're into the scene, than im sure you've heard of NYCE1S and their coverage on the underground. people in NY drive like idiots... soccer moms, bus drivers, your Sunday pastor, they all drive in a hurry....you ever street parked in NY? nobody cares about the next persons car or safety...smh its just the way it is here..

Why on earth would you be looking behind you auto-xing or running on a track? Your eyes should be forward 99% of the time.

1) It got hijacked cause your a *****... Actually I use the word *****, but they are useful so I think cankleberry would be a better word (if you dont know what one is then click here.... cankleberry

The reason why people have jumped on you is cause you tried to show off with something that 99.9% of people feel is dangerous (weaving in and out of traffic) and only shows off to the other guy your racing with or the other people in your car (which you are also putting at risk!)... The rest of the people on the road just think your a ****** and a waste of space... And you keep coming back to justify what your doing is right!

You actually know what your doing is wrong from the fact that you started off being all bravado thinking people would back you up with your amazing record of moving into a space 2cms longer than your car whilst doing 60mph, which of course they didnt..... To now things being closed street racing (erm anyone else please quote me if I am wrong, is still illegal... I doubt the police are involved in shutting off the street?)

JLedesma90 > respect and understanding of others.... FTL!
