Default Clear coating carbonfiber before installing?

I know that carbonfiber has a tendency to fade or yellow overtime. Will putting a couple layers of clear coat on the carbonfiber help prevent this?

It would help. Might help keep the epoxy from oxidizing. I know Tonester has said that he clear all of the stuff he makes.
I wish I would have when I got my stuff because now I'm fighting yellowing (which isn't that bad) and fogging. I'm going to have to polish the poop out of mine and then probably clear it.

Yes It will help, most Clears are UV resistant. I have cleared all my carbon on my car and it sits outside in the sun when Im at the shop and still no yellowing after a year or so.

Eric - do you just use a basic spray can clear? I know certain clears are for different applications, any recommendation?

Do you end up spraying right over the finished CF piece? Will it stick properly on top of the carbon's gelcoat?

Thanks I've been wondering about this for awhile now...

I have a paint gun and a booth, so I can always do it that way as well... but if done right, with the proper clear in a spray can, it will be almost as good.
