I was looking to get a possible leather seat kit installed on my Z, but before doing so, I was curious if sparco or recaro seats were alot better than the Z's. What exactley is the diffrence??
I have never sat in those other seats before.

IMO, Sparco are "show" seats.. I dont care for that company much. If you want an awesome seat, you cant go wrong with the Recaro SRD.. hands down, its an absolutely awesome seat.
I've had both leather and cloth seats, I like both. I think leather has its place in luxurious cars where ventillation and temperature control is NEVER an issue. On a sportscar, cloth is the only way to go.. especially if you are even considering harnesses. Harnesses are nice, but you will really sweat with leather seats in a sportscar and harnesses just dont help.
As for stock seats.. well, they're stock.. you might as well get a really nice aftermarket seat and ditch the reupholstery concept.

they are nice seats...but Im not sure if I want to spend 2500.00 on a set of seats. I was also throwing the idea around of having leather installed through out the entire interior, or is there another way of adding some color to the door panels and dash...and no way will I put tweed in.

Dont forget, you really need to TRY the seat before you even consider buying it. I dont know how tall or short you may be, but I am 5'8" and pretty slim. The Bride seat I sat in was horrible, I really hated the way it felt.. pinched my back too much. Most Recaro seats I've sat in are just really kickass, especially the SRD. I've also sat/driven in some Corbeu seats, but they were just too big.. they didnt feel like racing seats for me (maybe for Shaq though!)... ![Smilie](https://my350z.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)
So, be sure to try before you buy. I am currently running R32 Skyline seats in my car, they are made by Recaro and fit like a glove. Thin people love them, fat people hate them.. oh well, I dont need "extra" weight in my car anyway.![Smilie](https://my350z.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)
If I was in your shoes, I would probably got with a seat you find comfortable and then just reupholster parts in alcantara (aka sweude).

well I am not a big guy either.....6.0 170ibs drippin wet, the whole reason for going with leather or sweude is to reupholster the whole interior. After sitting in the Rx-8 I think the Z needs a lil more flash. Hope someone comes out with new door panels.

agreed, your seats do look good in your Z, but I am unsure about a fixed seat, I like to lean my seat back a lil bit.
Anyone know how to die your dash, I would like to leave the top black and change the bottom to red. BUT dont want it to look trashy

you really need to sit in them all and figure out what you want.
Sparco is a show seat? While that might be so, I don't think any more so than Recaro or Bride is (both of which we also sell). They are "show" pieces for those that use them as such, and "purposeful" pieces for others - thats all a matter of perception. Too many true race cars on this planet use Sparco seats, so its definately not a show only type deal!
We also offer discounts on Sparco, Recaro, and Bride - you won;t pay full list with us![Smilie](https://my350z.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)
