I posted about this previously, but I have some new information/questions.

I imported my Z to europe. European regulations state that cars with HIDs need to have headlight washers and an automatic headlight leveling system. That is a really expensive mod.

So, I want to replace the HID low beam system with a halogen bulb.

Here are some pictures of my headlight assembly.






In the third picture, I have placed my Halogen high beam into the low beam socket. It seems to be a good fit.

So, I think that all I need to get to do this is another set of Halogen bulb sockets (with wire still attached). It looks like it is just 12VDC going into the HID ballast.

Anybody have any reason this won't work? Am I missing something (I almost think it can't be this easy).

Also, anyone have their old halogen bulb mount or know where I could get a set?

Not certainly what will happen if a halogen bulb is connected to a HID ballast. What are your regional members doing about this situation?

just grab a set of non HID headlight buckets off ebay , they are cheap. Then once you pass tge inspection swap back to your HIDs

All the Z's over here have HID standard. They are delivered with headlight washers and auto-leveling headlights (there is a sensor on the rear axle somewhere).

I wouldn't plug the halogen into the ballast, but go around the ballast or remove it entirely.

I'm not trying to be lazy by not looking myself, but what part am I looking for on ebay, I guess the entire headlight assembly?
