Hey guys, I was wondering if you knowledgable people on here could help me out. I'm looking to put an 06-08 Bumper on my 03, but when I went to Nissan to order the bumper there were 6 different part numbers for bumpers. I narrowed it down by build dates, but there is still a different part number for 06-07 to 08. What is the difference between those? If any..

Aside from the obvious front reflectors that need to be changed, I understand that there are a few other things as well. While searching on here I read that the "under engine cover" needs to be changed but Nissan only had 1 part number for that, and no seperate one for the 06-08's.

Also the fender liners need to be changed. I got that down, but does the entire fender liner need to be replaced or only the front half that connects to the bumper? I know that only the front piece is the one that matters but I didn't know if the back half of the 03 one will mount to the front half of an 06-08 one.

Another thing is the tow hitch cover, but I'm not sure if that needs to be ordered seperately or if it comes with the bumper when ordered from Nissan.

Is there anything else that I'm missing? Please let me know if there is, as it would be a big help.

Yes I searched, but all the threads about this were a bit hazy. I also had some specific questions that weren't asked in the others.

Lastly, I know this is a bit of a far request, but if anyone with an 06-08 is willing to PM me their VIN number just so I can use it to order the correct parts it would be a huge help.

The under cover in the middle is the same and bolts right up. The 03-05 fender liners also bolt right up but they leave a tiny (maybe 1/4 inch) gap at the lower edge of the bumper. You cant even notice it. I would install with the original fender liners and see what you think. Ill try and take a pic here in a few minutes. Just did this to my 03 recently. The bumper also comes with all hardware needed to install. Its a piece of cake install. Just to to the dealer and tell the parts guys you need an 08 bumper, the grill pieces, emblems and reflectors. A good parts guy will hook you up with what you need. Enjoy!

 

Yea if you can take a picture of the gap for me that would be great. But I'd also like to know if the front part of the 06-08 fender liner matches up to the back part of the 03-05 if anyone knows.

What do the grill trim pieces look like? They don't come with the bumper?

and that's not the part number for the bumper. The ones Nissan gave me to choose from are 62022-CF40J and FBM22-CF40J. You probably got those numbers from like Courtesy Parts or some other company who sells Nissan stuff but gives them their own part number.

Oh, and this is NOT a good parts manager. He doesn't know anything about these cars or what fits what. First he told me that an 06 bumper would not fit an 03 without "custom body work", and then he contradicted himself by wondering why I wanted one because he doesn't think there's any visual difference between the two. Most of the time he refuses to look anything up for me without a VIN number, which is why it would help big time if I can snag anyone with an 06-08's VIN just for reference.

Can anyone take a picture or a 06'-08' bumper on their 03'-05' with original fender liners? I'm not sure if its worth ordering the 08' liners or not.
