Default better way to attach Grille-Tech grille?

Hey everyone. I got my grille-tech grille yesterday, I looks good for the price. I don't like the idea of attaching it with zip ties, you can see them and its a b1tch to get in there and attach them on the far sides of the grille. any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I used very thin galvanized steel wire, and looped it in about 7 places to the plastic black fins in the stock grille--- looks perfect, noticable at like 10 inches!!!

That's a pretty good idea you have there..... I've tried everything, even using a silver paint pen to color the black zip ties - looked worse than before.

So if I go in to Home Depot and ask for galvanized wire, will they know what I'm talking about???

Yeah I am going to try that also, thanks for the tip Rizz!

It's not cutting through the stock plastic grille is it?

I also attached mine with some thin silver wire. After about 200 miles it still holds real well and looks good. The wire is hardly noticeable.

To attach my Grille-Tech grille I stuck with their method of using zip ties, however I went to Home Depot and bought much thinner ties than those shipped with the grill. The ties were also shorter so I had to connect two together to make it longer. The ties are black on a black grill and are not noticable at all, and beleive me I am picky.

Ummm-
I don't think its cutting through the plastic grille?!?- I havn't checked tho!
I just simply twist-tied them with pliers --- Oh, yeah- I did this with the bumper off-- makes it waay easier!

i got mine held on by 3 small black zip ties. i routed them from the inside, so all you see is the small band on the outside. if you make them semetrical, it looks good. in other words, equal spacing and placement for all 3 and it looks tight. you dont need a lot of zip ties because the wind pressure holds in snug.

I just got mine today and installed it. The best thing is, my grilletech grille is black for my black Z. The zipties are hardly noticeable. It was indeed one hell of a task to get those zips in there without taking the undercoating off. I took some skin off of my arms in the process, however. I did take those little plastic shrouds (???) out of each corner behind the stock slit grille. Does anyone know what these are for? Looks to me they might have been for protecting the hosing and stuff for the coolers and radiator but I am not sure. BTW, what is that little cooler in the passenger side bottom for? Is it a power steering cooler or a tranny cooler? This is my first manual tranny car so I am not sure if people with manuals use coolers for their trannies like auto guys do. If that is a tranny cooler it is absolutely tiny compared with the Hayden cooler I put on my auto Probe GTS. I have to go back and redo the first side I did because on the second side I looped the ziptie through one hole and looped it back through the hole right next to it. The first ones I looped it through the 3rd or 4th hole down so it doesn't look as good. So, for the people that have had this grille for a while, how is the quality? Does it hold up well to all the crap thrown at it during everyday driving? These questions would be best answered by someone else with a black grille as I would imagine the black would show wear marks and stuff more than the silver.
