hey guys, i'm looking to put eyelids on my car, I just like the look of them and think they'd flow well with a suttle lip kit...

anyway, this thread is for those who have them...

I don't know any local places that carry them, and all the eyelids i've had for my past cars were all bought off ebay...some fit well, some didn't...

i've found two main sellers...

one of them sells one that is made by "AUT Design" and ships from the US, the other one ships from China but just says "eyelids"...feedback on both are really good...but not too many of these specific Z eyelids are sold so there aren't too many detailed feedbacks...more like "good seller" vs "good fitment"...

the difference shipped to me(in Canada) is about $20CAD, so not much of a difference, but that $20 could also go towards a can of paint for me to paint it in my garage...

anyway, if anyone has some feedback i'd really appreciate it, if not I'll probably just go with the AUT design one since I saw someone on CarDomain with it and looked really good...

so back on topic, anyone with them that have feedback on which one to go with? or fitment issues?

man can anyone have their own taste on this forum? every thread where someone wants there own styling and taste into their car you guys call them rice or dumb or uncool.

I dont think Ive ever seen such a negative car forum. Go look at Supra forums, 3000gt forums or Mustang forums, Everyone supports each other. Everyone here bashes everyone else's ideas, tastes and thoughts...

Who cares if other ppl think its uncool... If you like it do it. Simple as that.

Well said my brother, and for the OP i got mine from Ebay cost me around 75 dollars they are CF i recomend getting them from a different website like Evo-R because their CF quality is much better than the ones on Ebay.

I was looking into them myself and some sites off the AUT Design ones for a higher cost than on ebay for the same. I would stay away from the ones that just say china because I am definite but I think there used to be a few threads about the cheap ones having a poor fitment or something. I have seen the eyelids on some cars and they flow and some they look awkward on at Z meets but it is to each his own.

 

Just the same Internet bandwagon ********. All it needs one person to scream "rice" and the sheep fall into place. Strange how no one thought I was rice when nitrouz had it on his car. Strange how none of the people who scream rice can justify themselves. How is it rice? It follows the body lines of the car... Flows more and is much subtler than some of the crap people think looks great, yet this small mod is somehow rice. LOL at the haters.

but yea...I love the aggressive look of the eyelids, I guess I'll go for the AUT ones since they seem to be a "name" brand with these eyelids...and it's from the US so shipping wouldn't take as long as from China.

was planning of going with either the veilside v1 lip or the nismo v2 style lip, I love the veilside kit except for the fact that the front lip's middle section has to be double side taped onto the bumper...whereas the nismo v2 lip is bolted from the bottom...or at least it looks like it from the pictures...
as for the sides and rear, haven't decided yet, I need to see what flows well with the eyelids...funny how I like the aggressive look of the eyelids but I don't want an aggressive looking kit lol...

who gives a **** if anyone else calls it rice. if you like it, then do it. if you take **** from a forum to heart you have issues.

that being said, eyelids are a more expensive mod then you think if you want it to look proper and paint matched.

There are some things like underbody lighting i will speak out against, but only few things...and this id def not one of them.

i love the way they look, will i get them though, prob not because to do it right, you have to get the best names and to paint them right your looking at another 100 or so.

Too expensive for eyelids, plus they can be easily stolen. Other than that, they def look killer and follow the lines of the Z well.

 

Just get them and post pix.. Watch all change their minds.......

 

id like some too, but yeah its expensive, figure ill get them when im getting my handles painted, kill 2 birds with one stone

 

I seen you can buy the evo r ones painted for 129. Has anybody had them and does their paint match pretty well.

 

i ordered the AUT ones, i'm gonna just paint them myself as i've done several eyelids and they've all come out pretty damn close haha just got a local shop to mix up the paint for me with the colour code, I just hope the fitment is good enough so that there is no need to make modifications.
