Default Emblem Question!

So I just replaced my front bumper with another OEM one that I had painted. Everything looks great EXCEPT- how do you take the Nissan badge off of your old bumper and put it on your new bumper?! I got the reflectors and everything on the bumper and it looks great, but I can't find any tutorial or DIY tutorial about the bumper badge. Any help would be great, thanks!

but leaving it off leaves the depression where it should go.

OP, you'll have to pull on the emblem to get it off, might need to heat it up a little to loosen the adhesive. Reapply to new bumper.

Yeah I was thinking heat gun + some fishing line to get it off. What kind of glue should I use to re-apply the emblem? Anything specific?

Agreed, it can't be that pricey.

from the nissan dealership it's 37 dollars :/. Super lame for an emblem. I used a heat gun to get my other one off and applied the new one with some high strength double sided tape. Still super shiny with no rock chips or anything. Thanks for the help guys!

I want to take my rear emblems off to paint them and put them back on... Is double sided tape the only way to go? My concern is that the high strength tape is thick so the emblem might stick out and the tape would be exposed from the side view - looking cheap and sh!tty. Anyone have input on this?

Use thinner tape. I assume you're thinking of that 2mm thick hobby stuff, yeah? You can get some pretty thin in strong stuff from a Lowes or HomeDepot or whatever they have wherever you live. Also, I'd suggest not painting the back side or you may end up losing your badges to harsher weather.

all you have to use is the 3m double sided adhesive tape to mount the emblem back to the car. ive already taken my emblems off and painted them and used the 3m tape and i havent had any problems with my emblems

$37, if yours isn't perfect I'd just buy a new one. Unless of course you don't care, then by all means remove your own one with fishing line.

Nah, you gotta think of the fishing line like a saw and work it. Same with the burger except replace the fishingline with teeth.

Hmm... I dunno what those pins look like. If you want to preserve the emblem, you might need to open up some of the interior paneling on the deck to see how the pins are anchoring your badge to the car (on the other side of the metal.) If they're t-type, you can close them with pliers (presumably) but I've never seen a rear "burger" standalone before, so I can only guess as to how the pins are functioning. And my best guess is that they're t-type. Unless they were pressed on--which would be really dumb--in which case, you're pretty much borked; just break it off and glue/dual-tape it on to your new deck. Stuff the pins.

the 2 pins only protrude from the rear of the emblem simply to only properly align the emblem when putting it on. they only stick out about a 1/4 inch or so.
when taking the emblem off you can use fishing line or what i did was take a heavy duty thick leather glove and put up against the car and take a small flat head screw driver and prop it under the lip of the emblem but resting on the glove to ensure i didnt touch the paint with the screwdriver.
thats how i did it and dont have any scratches dents or anything wrong with my paint or emblems. i did it the same way to the front
here are some pics

i took both burgers off.. used floss and other nylon line to cut through.

what's required to prep them? should i sand them down with 1000grit?
