Wet-sanding will not remove ALL of your clearcoat if done properly. If you go to far, it is always possible. I would worry about the dealer even attempting this on your car since they have already jacked you up so much. Sounds like another way to get it in the **** from them.
If at all possible, watch them do it. Hell, I would take a day off of work just to make sure it is done right. If you see the color of your paint coming off on the wet-sanding, then you know that they have worked through the clear coat and are starting in on the paint job itself.
Good luck.

Mr2,
Def. do not buy from Academy, they also opened one up on Woodman road and BTW, this is the same greedy owner.
I don't know about John Elway, they also opened a new one 30 miles to the south in Pueblo. I might start going there for service from now on.
The person who did my bra after it was painted was Tony from Action Line, he did an outstanding job, even let me watch him do it, NOT 1 RAZOR BLADE CUT. And he did it in under a few hours.
I wanted Academy to let him do the hood bra after they paint it, but they are GREEDY and want me to take it to Drive in auto sound. All I know is, it had better be fixed this time.
I can get you a good deal if you want a clear bra done.
Oh and yes I am getting the car done this Sat and I will be there for the entire process. I am leaving my gun at home though, LOL.

Thank You for your Kind words. I feel very badly for anyone who has had the misfortune of having a terrible Clear Bra installation done on their car.
I myself have been doing this for 6 years now, and rely on 75% of my business from referrals from Happy Customers like SixRB6. Believe me, it is just as important to service our customers after the install, as before the installation. Now, more than ever with the Internet at the fingertips of almost everyone, just one very unhappy customer can put you out of business.
I am grateful that when people are happy with my work that they take a moment to Thank Me in a forum such as this.
I Primarily do Installations up and down the entire east coast from NJ to Florida, and ocassionally out west upon request. If I can help anyone out there with any questions about The Clear Bra, or give you a no obligation quote, please do not hesitate to contact me anytime. Happy Motoring to all.
Thanks Again,

There is a way to really get their attention. It will take a little of your time though. Make some very nice, big and honest picket signs. Notice honest, do not claim anything untrue or you could be sued for slander. Then march in front of the dealership. THIS WILL GET THEIR ATTENTION IN A BIG WAY! Be sure to picket on Saturday & Sunday when they have most of their traffic.
Good luck & please keep us informed,
Chris

As others have stated, your problem began with the technique/materials used to install your clear bra. The quality material is a 3M product. Then the good clear bra installers have computerized cutters that precut the material to fit on a given vehicle--no razor blades EVER!! The price you pay should be at least 50% labor, as the key to a good result is 3-fold: 1) use the 3M product, 2) have a computer precut it to the year, make, and model, and most importantly 3) have an EXPERIENCED installer put it on. I paid over $1500 for the hood, front bumper, side mirrors, and headlights, but you get what you pay for. I used the X-pel product, and am VERY pleased with the results. Check out their web site--http://www.xpel.com. You may find it informative about clear bra products.
As for your current situation, I empathize. I had heard some bad things many years ago when I was a cadet at the USAFA, and the seniors were buying cars with their senior loans. My advice: 1) take MANY pictures--before and after is best, but at least after (the car was new before). 2) Pay for a lawyer. What's your time worth to you? If you have wasted as many hours as you claim, and even if you were only making $10-$20 / hr working a job, you may have already wasted hundreds of dollars by losing your valuable time.

My price was originally $699, I worked it down as part of the vehicle haggle. Lets see, at the most the material cost less than $300, maybe more like $250. I spoke with a clear bra specialist about this. He told me what he pays, so its a pretty hefty profit for those installers or the owners. I would say thats a hefty profit don't you?
I do admit though, there were more expensive places, I just thought the dealer was the best thing. I was wrong, dead wrong. I looked at the pre-cuts, they just don't match up correctly. IMO!

The X-Pel web-site quotes $249.95 for the hood and side mirrors, $299.95 for the front bumper, and $69.95 for the headlight protection. These prices are just for the material, not the labor. But then again, the material is already precut for the vehicle.
Do I think there's alot of profit built into that price? Hell yeah. But it's always that way. If you're getting a great deal, there's usually a reason for it . . . an inferior product, inferior workmanship, or inferior warranty/service after-the-fact. As for the fit, I am VERY happy with the look/fit of my clear bra. It's as good as any I've seen.

Tell them in a very polite way that you would like to register a complaint against the dealership. Calmly explain your problem and ask them if they can assist you in getting the results you want. Get the name & phone number of the person you talk to at NNA. And get the reference number, or case number, whatever they call it.
Then call the dealer and tell them you have registered a complaint with NNA. Now sit back and see if Nissan really gives a dang.
You won't get a new car at this point, lawyer or not. I would strongly argue to have the entire exterior of the car repainted. Good luck.

As far as small claims, they won't do jack, as long as ACADEMY NISSAN is fixing my car and they are attemtping to fix it, then thats all that matters to a judge. I would lose.
ISTILL FUMING. Thanks for listening folks!

Had you gone to a lawyer, paid him what he wanted up front to talk to you, you would have gotten a new car or all of your money back (except for a few dollars for the miles you drove the car). Under the act, the dealer would have also had to pay YOUR attorney's fees (including what you paid him up front). In other words, it would have been FREE to you and you would have gotten a new car or your money back.

Clear Bra on my Z
I live in the Netherlands and ordered a clear bra kit from Xpel. Today a company installed the clear bra kit on my Z. It looks like crap. Sizes are incorrect stretching the material was the only way to get any result, it does'nt fit. Xpel write in their manual that stretching was not necessary, looking at their instruction DVD will give you the impression that it's fit's like a glove but what they show you is a WHITE M3 on this WHITE M3 you can't see where the material REALY ends when finished. All over (horizontal and vertical) the (pre-cut) kit is between 0,5 till 2 cm to small or to short. Advise from the installer and my Nissan dealer, wait two weeks if the result is the same as now we remove everything.
