Default Nismo bodykit to become too common?

I love the look of it, but with the US-Spec Nismo bodykit release in the following months, isn't anyone who has this kit a little concerned about the fact that it's going to become a dealer installed option?

Much like the TRD kits for the celicas, there's going to be many new Z's on the lots with the kit pre-installed by the dealerships as a overpriced package. There's going to be quite a few of them driving around in 2004.

Default To me, it's still the best looking kit out there....

but it's also my concern that it'll become too common......

Yup. I like the wing but I think I'm going with Esprit sideskirts.

i've honestly never really liked the nismo wing..don't like the way the base looks and the wing looks odd to me....guess I am in the minority on this one. I like the front bumper though...I do wish it looked more like one piece though instead of looking like you glued on a front lip to a stock bumper.

I agree with all of that.

Not as common as the stock look. I'm petty sure you'll see more stock Z than any other Z with a body kit.

I'll be the forth to agree. I like the kit, especially the nose, but the wing doesn't sit right with me for some reason.

I agree as well - not a fan of the NISMO kit at all - to me, the price paid for a bumper that is ever so slightly different from stock is not worth it, and I am not a fan of the skirts or the wing - they don't follow the cars lines smoothly enough IMHO.

I wish they offered the hood from the JGTC car - very nice looking

i think Sony/Nismo styled the rear wing to be the reciprocal of the tail lights... i found it in good taste... but yea its getting quite 'common' hence why i decided to get something else..

heheh.. that NO ONE WILL HAVE! mwuahaha... or until i start sellin' it...

silver carbon? blue carbon? red carbon? you gots it !!1

I am not a big fan of Nismo wing either. I love the kit minus wing. I am going for the kaminari wing.

IMO, the rear would look better w/ a whale tale type wing. Something like Stillen's but a bit more aggressive....

I somewhat see styling cues from the porsche GT2 in the Nismo kit. I think it looks great except, I don't like the look of the nismo wing from directly behind.

From behind it almost makes the Z look like a angry, evil, robot bunny face. I think it's the base or something.

Ill be wing'n it soon. heh, I like the look of the nismo wing. Its a very original design much like the Z, I feel it fits well. I really don't care how many people have it, I know out of all the Z's I have seen around I have NEVER seen one.

Unfortunately I see that changing in the next few months. Dealers love to add on optional items and mark up the cars. At least around here they're known for their special "Dealer packages" including tint, chrome wheels, paint protection, etc.

I'm not a bit concerned... unlike others who posted above, I like the look of the Nismo wing. It says performance without venturing into the ricey zone.

Also, the US kit does not include the full front bumper, only a lip for the stock bumper. So anyone who got the full Nismo kit (or a full Nismo knock-off) will still be sporting the much better looking Japanese kit front end.

Finally, for those who would consider reselling, it will probably be much easier to sell a car with a kit supported by Nissan than an independent kit. I realize there is a sizeable market for customized imports, but that market is still not as a broad as the general buying public who will possible have seen the "Nismo kit" Zs on the dealer lot and would be more willing to buy a used one like that. Of course, that is a minor concern for me, 'cause I'm never selling mine!!!
