Ended up getting it cut at one of the local locksmiths that was willing to lend me a screw driver to take the unit apart at the time
I suggest taking it apart and just taking the blade with you to a locksmith, since you have to take it apart anyway to install your transponder chip.

I use a Nissan Rogue Key Fob and love it.
Those flip up fobs are very cheap and break easily, after going through two of them I decided to look for something else.

It works just fine if you can live w/o the trunk button.

the rouge key is sweet! I need the trunk button though because my old g35 doesn't have an external button.
It wouldn't be too much of a pain to key into the car to open the trunk every time, but sometimes it would get annoying in the garage.

So here is how you do it. You take your old keyfob and open the remote up with a small flathead. And remove all electrical parts in the remote. And transfer them into the flipkey fob takes about 2 min max. Next is the hard part. You take your old ignition key , cut it open with a ceraded edge knife, steak knife would work since the plastic isn't that strong. Than you take a exacto knife and cut away the plastic that surrounds the transponder chip. The plastic is cheap so easy to cut. Than you just glue the transponder into the new keyfob. There's a designated slot. And put it back together and bam. Done. Take it to the dealer with the vin number of your car and they'll laser cut it for like 3 min and your done. New keyfob. I'll post pics of the comparison later

Ok so here are the pictures that people has been asking.
Finally side by side comparison to my OEM key fob.

Another shot

To the Key
<a href="http://s199.photobucket.com/albums/aa85/jake01984/?action=view¤t=Photo46.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i199.photobucket.com/albums/aa85/jake01984/Photo46.jpg" border="0" alt="flipkey 4"></a>
Nissan did a great job cutting the key with the Vin # verification laser cutting. Definitely started the car right away no problem. Not to mention it only took about 3 min total and it was free.

And to answer the Rogue key, the guy at Nissan today was like "woah I can't believe you got this set up for 20 bucks, the key blank they gave you it's Titanium just like your OEM key fob. That's great quality stuff." Maybe it's the stealership being completely idiotic again but he seems really impress with the price and the product, if it is titanium than damn that is a pretty good deal. Might turn my other OEM into it as well.

Agreed...I'e had two flip out setups, and they fall apart after awhile. On the Rouge key, that is a great idea. Do you happen to know if the remote is programmable for an 03 (lock/unlock)? How much was that key from the dealer?
