Default Need Help Removing and Installing A 06 Shift ****

Hi guys,

I was hoping you guys with 06 Z's and up can help me. I have an 06 350z and I just got my Tommy Kaira Hebi Bebi **** from Z1 performance. I have searched and I know the tools needed for the removal process, and most of how the removal process goes. But mostly when I searched it came up with 03's doing this.

My question is, how do you pop up the shift finisher on the 06's to expose the shaft I need to grip with the vice grips? Also I don't want to damage my new **** so would putting it on with your hand be sufficient?

This is my first time installing or removing any shift ***** just to let you all know. Any help would be great.

Thanks in advance,
Dan

Yeah, its on pretty tight. I had to remove mine for the first time not too long ago. I'm pretty sure there might have been locktite on mine. You'll for sure need tools. I was just careful not to damage anything, especially the threads. Also they say to use the one vice to hold the shifter lower, so you don't damage part of the tranny. I wrapped the **** with a towel and same with the shifter, but suit yourself. The panels pretty much just pull apart.

Just a link I found, you probably have seen it....

As far as I can remember the panel with the dials just pulls away. Take your time, and try not to force anything for fear of breaking those picky clips. I was also careful not to scratch up the other pieces of plastic on the dash with everything, i just used many towels. Good luck!
