How to? Defog headlights/ paint headlights
Ok iv been doing some
research and still I'm finding a bit of a gape in what I need to do for this diy project
This weekend I'm prepingy headlight to be retro fitted and painted
so far there's a ton of fog on the outside and inside
of my lights and I heard a bunch of different variety of ways to remove said fog such as wax buffers polish. Plasticx. From what I heard though this onlyremoves up to 90%-95% of the fog. I also heard of wet sanding the rest to get it out but I dont know if wet sanding will do more damage than good
seconed part is. Painting the headlights as well as removing the chrome
? Or is the chrome painted over. Mostlyfor painting I need to know types of paints sanding and prep work everything else is a breaze

I have tried a billion things out there to restore my headlights.
Here is what ive learned.
PlasticX.... really wont do much. Atleast for our headlights
Certainly dont use a rubbing compound as they contain abrasives and will make it worse.
Well... 2k grit sand paper ended up making my headlights even worse. Granted, it was a very smooth and even but they werent even clear lenses anymore.
Now one thing that i think would be the most successful is getting a good clear coat over the headlight and that would clear up the sanding i believe it would be pretty good to go. But the key word is GOOD clear coat. I dont know if a can would be perfect enough.
My biggest recommendation. Go to ebay. But a $150 pair of bump headlights, in the process of painting your internals of your oem's, replace with lenses from fake ones. Perfect new lenses. Their quality satisfied me to high standards.

for painting, ive done many headlights and i always use krylon fusion for plasics. All you need is a clean surface as far as prep goes.
Not removing chrome, no presanding, no adhesive promotor.
There is also a few tutorial on here that show the whole process.

it works. Very good. Im trying to get ahold of the wholesaler to see if i can buy just the lenses in bulk and sell them here as a service or DIY.
They are a perfect fit.
No one could tell unless you look really closely at the raise lettering at the bottem that is missing nissian and h4 bulb.
They fit both gens of headlights too.
