Try getting someone to polish the whole car. It is possible that the original paint is very slightly oxidized and the new paint is much more glossy, thus causing the difference.

Worth a try or get them to redo it.

my paint was a little off from the factory, my car is silverstone. the paint will naturally react to the plastic panels differently than the metal panels. sadly its more noticable on certain colors such as ours. of course you could take it back again and again to get it perfect, but it is normal for it to be slightly off.

Actually, I heard the reason was because the plastic and metal are painted at different points on the line, therefore, they don't match. Again, this is what I heard....and since my rear end looks perfect and has time to fade (plastic and metal didn't fade different) I tend to believe this may be true.

As for difficult paint to match.....why is white the hardest to match? Just curious. I thought LSS was tough!!

what he's trying to say that, if you're painting on 2 different type of surfaces(bumpers are made of plastic, and other exterior parts are metal) the finished surface will have 2 slightly different finish to it. Also, correct me if I'm wrong, the bumpers actually uses a different paint that's less likely to crack upon impact. PPW is hard to match, I have one myself, but most experienced painter can get it pretty close that it's hard to tell that it's different. From what my painter told me is that, PPW is a 3 step process, that's why even the OEM touch up paint that Nissan sells doesn't even match. The OEM paint is only a 2 step. I'd recommend taking it back to him ASAP, at least it's paint job, not like other install jobs, where he can say you changed the installed part. You can't retouch the paint job that he did, so he has to take responsibility to what the paint job looks like now.
