My friend wrecked his 03 350z well its wasnt him his buddy was driving i was behind him in my 350z. I saw the whole thing happened as well as my girl. It was me my bro n my cousins. The cops said that the passenger air bag didnt deploy. So my ? Is can the air bag be turned off? Hes still in sticu hes making improvments we r all praying for him the driver just had broken ribs and a shattered ankle he was stuck the whole engine came in n crushed him in as our buddy he was barely breathing but still alive. My girl is afraid to be in our car cuz she saw what happened to his car it literally exploded into pieces. But the good news is they both r alive n pulling through.

the dealer can install a switch in most cases.

Some dealers may not want to install due to liability reasons.

 

Unless he had an airbag light prior to the accident the bag should have deployed. If i remember right the z didnt get the latest gen "smart" bags till 04.5 or 06. Even with those , if the passenger was over 90 pounds the bag should have gone off.

How fast were they going? Somehow i would believe they were hauling ***.

no racing but were speeding they were taking a turn as they were turning this little toyota corolla cut them off they swriled to avoid the car they did but the real wheels lost traction n fished tailed from one side of the road to the other n it wasnt a pretty sight to see

It will remain off until there is weight in the seat and the seatbelt latched.


I have been in a couple accidents, thankfully not in my Z. Hopefully this will teach them not to drive like that off the track. Taking a corner at the speeds it would have taken to push the motor inside the car is dumb as ****. Hopefully they make it out of it.
