I deffinetly thing there should be a vent there. It would make it different, and also be functional.

As someone once said:

I can't give you a formula for success, but I can give you one for failure "Try to please everyone!"

Cheston, I think whatever your final product looks like, it will be just great. Most people will like it and a few may not.........but that is how it is with all products.

You have put a lot of hard work and research into this and I can't wait to see your finished product.

Cheston,

I know you've said a rear diffuser is not a priority item at the moment, but I'm wondering what exhaust you will be going with since that will most likely have an impact on what is possible to get done.. I'm starting to explore getting one made but been getting the sense that having a single tip type of exhaust like a JIC or a dual tip like a RSR exhaust would be the only ones that would allow something useful to be made.. any thoughts on this? I'm trying to avoid adding a wing to my Z, but definitely want a bit more downforce at high speed

the stock muffler is already its own diffuser.. if you look at the canister design, its very smooth and angled up at something like a 3 degrees sweeping up..

i will most likely will try to make a full diffuser with dual canister systems... ala RSR/ Greddy...... the single tip ones should be fine since they are offset to the side...

i need that portion of real estate underneath the spare tire area to mount the channels.....

Chebosto,

I'm very intrested to say the least, but I am in love with the looks of the Top Secret, so I must say that a vent for the front right is not needed.

BTW please post pics after the fitting tommarow.

yup i've seen that, sort of makes me wonder if there is real benifit of doing a rear diffuser.. it might be that transfering the metal plate on the stock muffler to an upgraded exhaust system might be just as good.. got to think about this more

oh by the way noticed some UCLA items in some of your pics.. well enjoy the game this weekend... something tells me i will... i went to the other school.. go SC

Idea:

Modular Body Design.
Take what you like, discard what you dont like....

i know alot of ppl cant afford the luxuries of boost. so having a huge hole in the front is not that great for NA.. there is no intercooler to fill the void... So.. i introduce.. modular body shaping.. adjustable fins and better yet.. .removable!

the horizonal bars are fully moveable (center bar will have variable pitch so you can adjust the top air flow for your raditor and the bottom will get to your intercooler... etc.. the side pieces will be stationary but removable as well...

the entire kit will be made of CF.... or kevlar if you choose...

here are the versions that we came up with....

sorry for the crude photochopsi didnt have my camera with me today! darnit....

intake hole is an option...

as for the side skirts, they will be molded to follow the rear body lines... no nasty hump! but all the benefits of trying to eliminate the vorticies off that huge rear tire of ours... no go on the vent for the rear brakes...

is that the final design?...meaning absolutely no more changes?...looks nice...but you need to show more angles....the only thing thats bothering be is that it looks like a civic "octane" kit
