Default Trunk Problems

So i have an 04 touring and ive had it for a while and am now having a problem. I cant open up the trunk. Useually i have to push the button and also lift at the same time and it works no problem. Now it wont work at all i can hear it unlatching but as i pull up it gets "caught" and wont open. Any one have any ideas on how to fix this?

I'd start by using the emergency release to open the trunk. Then I'd apply some lubricant to the latch assembly.

remove plastic cover from inside the rear hatch. Adjust the latching mechanism.
