Default Installing Oil+Water Temp Gauges

For those that have installed oil and temp gauges (and other gauges), did you guys use the fuse box?

Also, does anyone know the colors for the 12v constant, 12v switched lighting, 12v switched ignition, and ground wires are under the steering column?

The fuse box is probably the "safest" way, but everything eventually makes it's way back to the fuse box, so as long as you tie into something that has a decently low amp fuse (So it won't take for ever to pop it if you did something wrong) you'll be fine.

Invest in a multimeter and you can find switch/unswitched 12V etc. I tied into my seat heaters for both power and illumination, because they are both switched souces that go to the heater switches. If you dont' have a touring, or you don't want to tie into that, the radio is always a good place for those sources.

I wired mine off of the cigarette/accessory line.
