Buying bodykit from vedor.. Need paint an install advice first
WEll taxes are back and im finally pulling the trigger on getting a nismo v2 front bumper, ings nspec sides and rear bumper. Before I buy my kit I do have a few questions regarding fitment, paint match, and quality of the kit coming from the vendor. To save time and money my plan was to buy it pre painted and put it on myself.
1) How well is the paint match when buying from a vendor?
2) For anyone who has bought a kit, how was the fitment?
3) How much would i expect to pay for paint and instll from a body shop if i went that route?
4) How will The rear bumper look with the hks tic dual exhaust ?

1) That depends on what color Z you have...good luck getting close match if you have PPW...it probably wont match at all.
2) It depends on the vendor and if you get replica. If you go authentic it wont matter what vendor you get it from. If you buy replica theres always a chance fitment will be off by INCHES..which is very bad since 1/8 off in fitment is obvious when installing.
3) full body kit: anywhere from around $2500 to $8000.(Many variables)
4) thats a matter of personal taste....what do you think of the look. Stock bumper with a tuck doesnt look all that bad.

I wouldnt get it prepainted from the vendor. A reputable paint shop locally would be a much safer bet in getting the paint matched correctly.
The cost for paint is determinant on the size of the area needed painted. a whole front/rear bumper and sideskirts will probably run you over 1k. I've been quoted $1200 from a quality shop for front/rear bumper before.
Also replica kits usually will need some adjustments in order to fit correctly. I also let teh paint shop install, leave it to the professionals.

I think you should slow down and take a second to think about what
you're going to do. Imo you should buy these parts from shine auto
if you're not buying authentic. This will lessen the headache of fitment
as Shine's products are as close to perfect as knock-offs get.
You should research local paint and body shops - ask members and get
feedback. Many can "do" the work, but you want it to be perfect. Pay a
small premium if necessary to have the right shop work your car. I think
you can expect to pay anywhere from $1000-$1500 based on your location
for a really good paintjob.
Lastly, make sure you have a gameplan for your whole car. It's easy to stumble
along the way - spending money on mistakes.

I have an old M1 kit from Peter and the fitment was 90% - Body shop took care of the rest. The 10% coming from certain parts not lining 100% but were easy to adjust. side note: when i removed my oem side skirts i noticed mounds of double sided tape from the factory on one side and not the other.
Depending on the part you can expent to pay anywhere from 2-500$ a Part IE:
A front bumper can cost up to $500 tops prep and paint - 2-300$ for side skirts and 2-300$ for let's say rear add ons. give or take $100 for certain places
Sorry for that i meant greddy ti-c exhaust. IM really not looking to spend more than my taxes came back $1,550 for a body kit. The kit is going to be knock off from one of the vendors on here. And my car is chrome silver.. how hard is that to match? As far as my game plan is all thought thru and the exterior is only missing the body kit and black housing headlights and its done

I second having a local body shop do the paint for you. Shop I dealt with made sure everything was good before they put the paint on (hairline cracks that can pop up later if not repaired properly). I also had the privilege of seeing the work they did on other kits. Sometimes a lot of work was needed to get the replica stuff to look right. Tons of prep work to take out wavyness in the panels. Even by some of the most liked replica vendors here.
When and if you can I'd stick to authentic. If you can't, expect to pay more for prep work.

One last question (i think). Iv hurd bad things abouit buying fiberglass but it seems thats all i can find the v2 kit made of. How bad is it really? I have decided that im going to get it painted locally to ensure paint match and to avoid shipping damages but im still planing on installing myself

If you want the V2 bumper, but you dont want fiberglass why not get an Aerosync front bumper from gruppe-s. The Areosync bumper is made from polyurethane and does not have the problems that you would have with a fiberglass bumper. The Aerosync is $425 shipped and fitment is great. There is a huge thread on the Aerosync front bumper you should check out. Good luck
I just found the thread. It looks pretty nice. My only thing is i wanted the black lip and canards. Doesnt seem like paint the lip black on the aerosync woulk work out to well. And thenI have a red tow hook that i just bought but id doesnt seem like i can use that. NOt sure what to do. Now im 50/50. And while im at it doesnt anyone know who makes poly side skirt lips. I dont want to remove my factory side skirts but rather just install a "lip" over the OEm skirts
You can still have a black lip, all you have to do is have it painted. I dont know about the canards but I would think that if they will fit the V2 that they would fit the Aerosync because its almost the same as the V2. You can also use the tow hook, you just have to have the hole drilled out on the bumper (its only poly)

The more i look at it i actually dont care about the canards. It definatly looks good with the black lip and after reading thru all 13 pages on the thread i decided im going to go with theius bumper instead. I just hope someone can chine in with pictures od the bumper with a tow hook installed. Im afradi it will scratch the **** outts the bumper. RADNYK1 thank you for suggesting this bumper and changing my mind. I wanted the v2 but really couldnt stand the idea of fiberglass
No problem, I cant stand fiberglass ether, thats why I ordered the Aerosync. It will go on my Z when it gets all new paint this spring. I do have fiberglass sides but I dont worry about killing the sides as much as the front.
Just gotta do a little searching to try and find pictures of a tow hook installed and find out how people install and where to buy the black mesh. Once i get that info im ready to order mine to.
The black mesh you can get at a Nissan dealer and ask for the V2 mesh. I didnt order my tow hook yet but I will soon. As far as the tow hook scratching the paint, all you have to do is tighten the tow hook so it dosnt flop around,
