Default shine auto hybrid frp parts / painting them

hey guys, I was curious to hear from some customers that used shine auto parts, or I guess any hybrid frp (ings+1 authentic?)

I know it will vary from shop to shop. Did you give them the suggestions/instructions from Shine's site, or did you just hand them the parts and let them do it as they saw fit? Was the paint process more labor/material intensive then your average aero piece? Do you mind sharing what you paid to have your pieces painted? Any mistakes you learned from in the process?

Just wanting to check on some things before making any decisions - I appreciate your input.

Just paint them as usual... No special instruction necessary just because they're "Hybrid FRP"... Just tell your body shop to add flex additives.

The main thing is to make them use the additive. When I got mine painted I thought to my self "hey he's been doing this for years, and he thinks its ok" just to find out he was wrong. I went with the suggestion of the painter and allowed him to make the determination the mine is begining to chip and crack. Give them the direction and protect yourself. If there is a problem and you told them its their fault not yours.

thanks, this is the kind of info I wanted to hear. I wasn't sure if they should follow the directions from shine's site to a T or if they can just do it their way with some important side info.

wouldn't mind hearing from more too : )

Hey Entaille:

I just took them to the paint shop and had them take care of it. Granted, the paint shop I took it to is well received in our area (I believe you post in NorCal sections.. Angel Body/Paint), so it's possible they identified flex pieces from experience.

Pricing-wise was pretty typical, not above average vs. normal pieces.
