Default can I remove the glove box/sub frame?

sorry if its a stupid question and if there is a "Thread" already made. I would like to Know if I remove the the rear interior frame behind the seats where the glove box and a mount for a 10'in sub could fit would cause damage to the car or change any feeling to the steering or handling.

So ive read through most of the link above but cannot find if the speaker sub assembly provides any support for the chassis. Does anyone know if cutting it out prior to having a cage installed will poorly affect the car? I appreciate any help on this.
