Default polarg hyperwhites

I just installed a set of polarg hyperwhite turn signals for the front of my Z and I couldn't get the bulb to go into the socket all the way. It went in about halfway or so but after that it wouldn't go anymore. Any ideas on how I can get the other half in or if its supposed to be like that? I'm pretty sure they're the right size as I installed M2s and thats what the front turn signals are supposed to be.

M2? dont think thats right unless its another name for the 7440... is it a plastic base or glass? if its plastic Ive found that some have a notch type thing on their base that fit perfect in the tail light socket but not the turn signal socket even tho both are the "same". take a dremel or a file and remove the tap and it should go in.

if its glass obviously dont do this...

If they're incandescents, they gotta be glass. Better yet... safety glass.

Yeah M2 is another designation polarg uses for 7440. I'm pretty sure it's glass and thats why I'm afraid to push it a little harder to see if it would go in. Any other suggestions?
