Nismo V2!!!!!!
Hey Guys,
Im planning on ordering a nismo v2 front bumper 2moro, and im not sure if I should order it from the dealership, which would have perfect fitment and maybe a warranty behind it. Or should I just go with Shine and take my chances?
Any answers are welcome!!!
P.S. The dealership is selling the bumper for 832.00 tax included.

Ok well I actually got into a minor accident but my insurance is gonna pay half, so money really isnt an issue. I was just wondering if I should pay and get my moneys worth or should I just go for Shine and really not pay anything. What material is Shine made with, I know the dealership offers urethane, which is a better quality does the material matter?
Thanks
Thanks
DTM has access to alot of kits now too so try them as well.

i don't believe the an authentic Nismo V2 is offered in polyurethane. (The V3 does). Shine's is "hybrid" something material... supposedly a little more durable than regular FRP. If money is a non-issue and you can patiently wait for the bumper then go for the real deal. If not go replica it is. Either way both will be prone to cracking from hard hits. At least with the real deal, fitment is guaranteed to be flawless and prep should be easy
Ok cool, yea I have decided to just go authentic, besides its a "Z" everything should be authentic

Ray, here's what I would do. Regardless of how much the insurance company is going to cover, I would always buy a good fitting replica body kit over genuine ones. Even if your insurance company is paying half, it's still $400 for a front bumper that no one will care about in terms of its genuineness. Remember, painting the bumper is another $200+.
DTM is having a pre-summer sale on their bodykits, you can view it here https://my350z.com/forum/body-exteri...r-special.html. They get their body kits from VIS and I also have a front bumper made by VIS. It used to be a hit or miss kind of a deal with VIS, but I believe their fitment issues have gotten better since mine is pretty spot on. If you're concerned about fitment, which all prospective replica buyers are concerned about, send DTM a message and ask them to fit the bumper onto a demo car prior to purchase, and if fitment is not as mentioned, then they should have free return shipping or something similar.
In regards to the material of the body kit, I really don't think it's that big of a deal. I used to be very concerned about it, and in fact, because of that, my first kit was PU. Yes I scraped the hell out of the front and it's still in impeccable condition (besides the paint), but after that initial scrape to the kit, I just didn't give a **** anymore since the kit wasn't perfect anymore. Now my new front bumper is made of fiberglass from VIS. I have scraped it multiple times, but it's still in perfect condition (again, besides the paint). So this is very subjective and depends on your driving habits and whether you're lowered or not, but I wouldn't be too concerned about it unless the road where you live sucks.
Cliffnotes: Buy a replica kit and save that $300 and invest it towards your next mod.

Ok I might try these guys out. I will give them a call first thing in the morning.
From what every dealer around here has said, the V2 has been discontinued. The only way you'll find an authentic kit is if a dealer still has some laying around in stock. I called the closes 9 dealers around and none of them had it. Just a FYI. But, the front bumper replicas from VIS fit very well. There are a few locals around me that have it. Now, the sides are a different story, everyone I have talked to said they fit horrible.
I would go with DTM or Shine. If DTM uses the same mold that M1 used, then the fittment will be damn near perfect.
Authentic or not authentic, its all the same FRP anyways. As long as the fittment is good, save yourself many hundreds of dollars and buy the replica.

my authentic fiberglass v2 is a trooper. basically stole it off ebay for
$250 or so used. it's been through the mill, but it still fits like a charm.
can't go wrong w shine. $800 +++ sounds like way too much for a V2
authentic or not!
save your money son.

Taking my car to the shop next week, we'll see how the fitment is.
Thank You Guys for all you're replys. Im so F***ing pissed man. My body shop called a local nissan dealer to order my V2 Front Bumper and they said that it wouldn't fit my 2004 350z. I needed to buy a new hood, other parts etc, is this true?
I hope not but it seems as if they are trying to steal my money.
Can someone help me out on this, is this info accurate do I really need a new hood for the v2 front to fit my 2004 coupe.
If not F**k the dealership, and can you guys who bought the V2 from other vendors post some pics up please just curious on fitment?
Thanks

You need a new bodyshop bro. Looks like a local member is willing to help ya out with a reputable body shop. I brought mine to a shitty body shop and they placed like 10 screws on my aftermarket side skirt. Full body kits will fit 03-08 350z. Front lips, there's two versions, one that will fit 03-05, the other that will fit 06-08.
Oh btw, you can save a few bucks if you do the installation yourself. It's one of the easiest installations and takes about 20 minutes to do. Save money and learn something about your car, kill two birds with one stone
