Default What are your thoughts on red leather?

Well I'm starting to think about what color leather seats I want to add to my Silverstone Performance. I've pretty much narrowed it down to 3 choices:

Black with silver inserts
Burnt Orange
Red

Now of the three I'd most prefer the red. I LOVE the look of silver cars with red leather seats. Check out the following pics:

Red leather in the s2k:

And a shot of red leather in an M:

Now, my only real concern is all the orange lighting on the dash. I'm not sure if that will clash hard with red leather. For this reason alone I am considering the burnt orange.

Black with silver is my third choice. Would look nice but I think it's becoming too common in aftermarket cars.

Any opinions on the matter (especially the red seats with orange lights ) or, more importantly, and pics of red leather in a Z?

Thanks!
Chris

i was planning on getting red leather, too. like the dark red in the new m3s. i never thought bout the clashing with the interior lighting, but i guess you have a point.
i'd still go for the red. be different.

Red seats would be cool if you do like that S2000, get red carpet and do the interior pieces red. If you just have red seats by themselves, that'd look pretty stupid. If you're just recovering the seats do a matching silver in the middle IMO.

That looks so ugly without the trim pieces (or anything else) of the interior done in red.

I agree, red in the s2k looks good cuz it has red trim as well. Red seats alone would look horrible. (Also, make sure it's a darker red.)

Maybe if you change your shift boot, and add some more red highlights... it'll look awesome... but just the seats alone looks tacky...

Default Burgundy

Ever since I watched "The Family Man" and saw the Ferrari 550 Maranello in a color resembling silverstone dressed with burgundy leather seats I fell in love. I would definitely not dress my seats in a bright red, but a nice Burgundy color -

I was thinking of getting my seats covered in a matching silverstone grey down the middle, and have burgundy on the sides. I really think that combo would look so sweet!!!

hmmmmm - all good points about the red seats alone not matching up too well.

this needs more investigation!

Make sure it's more of a burgundy sort of red, like the S2000 rather than lipstick red. I would try and get the doors done in red as well as the seats. Red on grey would look gorgeous, and rare. Dunno why Nissan doesn't offer red as an option.
