Default Your opinions on quote for Chargespeed replica rear bumper install and paint job

A collision/body shop has quoted me $800 for the whole job, figuring it would take 2-3 days to complete. The price seems high to me, but that is what they figure it will cost due to probable fitment issues. The two areas of concern are : the need to retrofit "clips" to secure the rear white reflectors lights and top of the bumper is shaped differently as compared to the OEM bumper(I am referring to the very top edge of the bumper that is visible when you open the hatch).

I trust that he can get the job done right, but I was expecting like a ballpark figure of something more like mid $600's. I'd like to hear what others think is a reasonable price for this kind of job.

Seems high and even if the lights need altering that shouldnt warrant such an increase

did you do a mockup of the part on the car? without seeing how
bad the actual fit is I believe the discussion is moot.

post a photo.

If he's going to take the rear bumper off he might as well go ahead and install the new one himself. It's not as easy as the front.
