What is the duct other than an attempt to get cold air from outside directed into the intake, correct? In the OEM config, cold outside air comes in the grill then up through a hole to the OEM airbox. A duct just shortens the route.

Is the air going to be any colder? No. Is the "pressure" of the air coming in noticably greater? Not really. Even if you could answer yes to both questions, what are we talking about in gains, maybe 1HP.

Considering that CAIs, Popchargers, etc. give maybe a 5HP gain (vs 287-306) that's imperceptible anyway. Even if you had a way to measure it, the error or lack of repeatability would make it impossible to distinguish any gains from an air duct.

Not to mention the 5hp gains from air-filters/intakes is questionable at times as well.

I have one... It adds nothing, maybe cools the engine bay like a degree or 2.

There was a guy on here who actually went and dyno'd the difference on a stock car (don't remember the year) and any gains were indiscernible in the power band. Search for that.

However, it did seem to keep it a few degrees cooler under the hood and that's usually better for engines. Is it really going to make a big performance difference on it's own? No. Could the temperature saving be combined with other small cheap mods to net you one or two horses? Maybe, if you can lose 10-20 degrees. Will you feel it? No.

This isn't a cheap car to own or mod, it's not some 1980s four banger Honda.

If you like the duct look, go for it, I doubt it will hurt your engine to keep it a little bit cooler.

I have one on my car and it doesnt add any power. Like said before may help the engine stay a little cooler but nothing noticeable. Really just for looks in my opinion.

I have an Evo-R lip and a Varis scoop... I was waiting for my Varis lip to come in but I became impatient, so now I'm waiting for my Chargespeed Bottomline to arrive at my house within the next week. Too bad I'm in Afghanistan... booooooooo.
