Just remove the plastic cap and then the anchor bolt where the belt attaches to the door sill near the back/bottom of the seat. It probably takes a large Torx bit, but I'm not sure about that. See section SB of the service manual for more info.

With a little effort, you can twist the belt where it goes through the buckle, if that's necessary.

I wouldn't mess with the retractor end behind the top of the seat.

Maybe you can unsnap the plastic piece that fits over it to get more clearance.

I was able to fold the belt and start it through the slot on another car, but the one on the Z is tighter than I thought it would be.

I put a twist in my shoulder belt where it goes through the holder at the top of the seat so the wind wouldn't make so much noise when I drive with the window down. I was able to fold the belt and slide it through that slot. Maybe that's where you can "hide" your twist.

Default found easy fix if anyone else has this problem

i know this is an old thread but if your like me have the seatbelt twist at your waist is a major freaking annoyance. after a while a of messing with it, it became apparent that this wasnt going to be as easy as all my previous cars. i tried everything, hidding the twist in the pillar, twistin this way and that way at the upper guide. at first i couldnt get it to twist through the buckle itself and at this point i had already taken the bottom bolt out. and then i decided wtf i am just going to try this. i put the bottom section on the ground in the same position that it would be facing in the car, pulled the seatbelt all the way out and had it going over my shoulder, i grabbed the buckle portion with both hands and with my thumb started to roll the belt onto itself while continually pulling up..... it is very tight but after about 10 sec or so it had completely flipped in through the opening. for giggles i did it again putting it back the way it was and then fixed it again to make sure that it was consistantly working.
