Thankfully there are no replicas because acquiring the genuine article is intentionally limited

some pics look funky but having seen
it in person on a good friends car it is fantastic IMHO

What Adam said! This hood is amazing and in my top three. Thank God it is not being replicated.

things wouldnt need to be replicated if the original company didnt gouge thier customers to begin with.

What Z1 just said, it is very hard to get ahold of, and very expensive.

MCR is another Top Secret, if you will, in Japan. One of the best out there when it comes to tuning and building parts for Nissans.

All of MCR's products, that i know of, are function/track tested and in this instance you can bet that hood was 110% function designed and wind tunnel tested.

All of their stuff carries a hefty price tag.

Its not horrible, i think alittle over 1k plus shipping. Same type of pricing from other high end jdm hoods. Keep in mind, though, your paying over 1k for an FRP hood....not carbon.

This is not in the same league as your typical Seibon, etc stuff (which one could also say is overpriced). I forget the exact weight, but it was less than the factory hood (most aftermarket hoods are heavier than stock, even the vented "carbon" (intentionally in quotes) ones, the gelcoat was really nicely done (no thin spots, even nicer than the Top Secret one IMHO), edges were finished very nicely. It's among the nicest body pieces I've come across for these cars, from any manufacturer.

95% of hoods for this car are FRP, not carbon. The usual suspects just have a carbon overlay. That's alot different than a true carbon hood though

Yes sir, i was referring to those in similar price range such as the Asuka hood, or Top Secret hoods which are 100% carbon fiber.

I have a Seibon, myself, but would love one of the above mentioned instead.

For that cash I'd get an ASM... though the MCR has nothing that I dislike, I just prefer the ASM personally. Their's actually some irony of the words "replica" and " MATCHLESS Crowd Racing" in the same sentence... extra emphasis on the MATCHLESS part.
