There are many many threads on headlight modification and most of them of course look at the 06+ ones. Some of the few that do mention the 06- include the demon eye mod.

What i can't find after much searching is where people have placed the LED in these lights as there is limited space. If anyone knows, or better yet has pictures it would be most appreciated.

well at the moment i have taken a guess at placing the LED behind the lens, glued to the metal casing just underneath the slot that lets the light through. the wire supplying it goes down and exits through a hole drilled off to the side of the main beam bulb. the only issue with this is that if you look frmo above the light the LED shines straight up which looks odd, not exactly a stealthy install. also this means when the light gets dirty there is a light spot on the top of the cluster where this LED shines up to.

Is there a different type of light people use?

I will take a few pictures if it helps people visualise it
