You should get a pvc tube and fill it with that expanding foam stuff... when it dries, cut some of the middle out just enough for the actuator to fit inside and move around... That should help with the noise...

Great idea, I'll have to give that a shot, thanks.

Here is a short vid of my progress on integrating an android tablet into the dash(viewsonic viewpad 7). I'm not quite finished yet, it's been a sh#t ton of work, but everything works great so far.
