Default Turning factory sub box into storage

I have no desire to install a sub and I was thinking of turning the factory sub box into storage. Has anyone done this? I haven' taken the panel off yet so I am not sure just how much room is in there or how to create a door. I thought about a removable net but I want see if anyone else has done this.

It's big. Like the glove box, except deeper, wider, etc, because the glove box housing doesn't fill the enclosure completely. In fact, you can buy another glove box, or just the door, and install it on that side. I've got a custom sub enclosure in mine, which is ~18" wide, 12" deep, and 6" tall, to give you an idea of the size.

Thanks. Where is a good place to buy the door? I would like to keep everything looking as clean as possible.

Probably expensive to buy new, so I'd check here in the Marketplace for someone parting an interior. Any year will work. You really want some little parts, too, like the latch assembly at the top edge, etc., so look at your passenger side and make sure you ask for everything you need. The screws from the Bose speaker panel can be reused.

If you don't want to buy the glove box door, you can even reuse the trim panel you have, as it clips in and can be removed easily by just grabbing the edge with a fingernail. My car had a blank panel, which I sold and then I ought a used panel with the Bose grille, but either panel will work for your purposes. There is a metal speaker mounting plate behind that panel, which all the cars had, Bose or not, that you can remove and just trash.

the drivers side is exactly the same as the passengers side, all the bolt hoels are identical, etc. ALl the latch areas in the plastic etc.

I bought a duplicate pasenger side trunk for behind my drivers seat for 60 bucks shipped on ebay. It bolts on and is suuuuper clean. The engineering of it makes for an absolute bolt on swap out. The brakcets to suspend the back are even the same.
In short to alleviate any further questions you may have, the factory opening door will not bolt on, but everything under the platic grill panel is exactly the same on each side. If your ok w popping off the panel w your key to open it, youre fine.
