Good to know it was taken care of by the dealer, go with the aerosync you cant go wrong with urethane you wont have to worry as much if you do by chance bump anything.

Thanks for the kind words guys. Coordinated the dealer with Gruppe-S and picked up one of their remaining Aerosync bumpers. The body shop should get it within the next two weeks so I'll have a fresh front end for 2011! Fingers crossed that I can get in and out of my driveway..

All things being equal the VeilSide is the lowest of the two.

Really? A couple other people said the Aerosync is lower and seemed pretty confident about it. As far as steep inclines go, I think it might be a break-even trade-off between the VS lip being higher and sticking out farther, versus the Aerosync being lower but the lip doesnt stick as far out from the bumper.

I bought my aerosync used, and the fitment wasn't so great, apparently you have to drill your own holes though and I think the previous owner's body shop just didn't do a good job.

Anywho, the previous owner also had brackets made to bolt the bumper to the subframe. Lemme tell you, I hit one of those bags of salt from home depot going like 40mph, bag exploded in front of my car, thought my bumper was gonna be toast......nothing! Not even a paint chip let alone any cracks I think the brackets made a huge difference.

So in summary, I can definitely vouch for the durability of these bumpers and can't see any piece getting ripped off no matter how much you scrape. But yes, it does sit pretty low. With my tein s-tech's and 265/40/18's, the bumper's lip is about the height of my iphone off the ground (approx 115 mm)

Wow sounds like it's a pretty durable piece indeed.

When I spoke to the vendor (Gruppe-S) they said that the bumper is pre-drilled, but I've heard both stories on that one.

Do you have any pictures of the brackets? That sounds like a good idea. Also, does the OEM undertray fit properly with the Aerosync front, or did you have to come up with something custom?

I guess pricing is subjective to how much you're looking to spend, but places to look for the authentic piece might be Injected Performance, Intense Motorsports, Vivid Racing. (I bought mine from Intense Motorsports a few years back).

I'm sure replicas can be had on eBay but fitment and quality will be a crapshoot. Evo-R was selling replicas for a while too but I think they recently got banned here on the forums as a vendor. Not sure what went down on that one, but it's usually not a great sign.

A little off topic, but in lieu of starting a different thread: Has anyone tried to wrap the lip portion of the Aerosync front bumper cover in 3m di-noc carbon material? I have veilside carbon fiber side wings and just got some carbon fiber nismo (replica) rears so I'm thinking it would balance out the look to have the front lip wrapped in cf as well. With unlimited funds it seems like it would be a fun project, because I'm sure I wouldn't get it right the first time, so I'm really just trying to gauge difficulty due to the lip being an "irregular" geometry.

oem undertray fits just fine but you will have to drill the holes for it.

Here is my ride height for reference.

nkohler, do you have a side shot of your car? I want to be able to measure the height of your side skirt mudguard (for reference) and the bottom of your Aerosync lip see how low the lip is.

I had a Nismo v2 bumper before. Nice quality...very strong..so strong that rather than breaking, the entire bumper moved and bent my fenders!

I have an Aerosync on the way, and a little concerned myself just like the OP.

Here are the pics of the fender repair.
