With suede there probably wouldn't be much of a problem but leather is another story. Leather is extremely strong so what i had to do was scorr the back of it quite a bit before installing. There should be no problem now.

It may be able to deploy through most fabrics but with strong fabrics it might create very slight deloy which could easily hurt someone.

what makes our interior look like *** is the door panels! I hope your planning on covering those as well, because if you don't your interior will be awful man. Good work thus far for the budget build, but please wrap those doors too!

The door panels will probably be a winter project for me because I'm going to customize my own design and make them out of fiberglass.

I'll be uploading pictures within the hour. As you will see in the pictures the interior still has a long way to go. The reason being is that it is the only car i can drive daily (till the winter then i'm allowed to drive my dad's corolla), I've been working 40-60 hours weekly in order to pay off the car next month, and also i'm taking a college course over the summer so my attention hasn't been on the car for awhile. Realistically I will probably finish the entire interior in the month of December but that's not certain it maybe sooner.

The headliner isn't in yet. I am having to take it to a quilter to get the diamonds put in the way i'd like because i don't have the correct machine. Hopefully the headliner will be fully done and in before the end of next week.

id have stayed away from piping the dash pieces.. adds no aesthetic appeal.. but again, the DIY is far above commendable.

As far as leather over your airbag, yes, it creates issue, but when it comes down to it, will it really matter?

Also, i ahve carbon fiber door panels, you may want to try them as well. They are a PAIN to fit. beware.

These are on OSterdocks car, a set like mine that i sold him.

make sure to cover the top w some suede tho, these will BURN you in the summer big time.

Thanks for the advice. Right now the piping doesn't look as though it flows well but it will look much better once I finish the doors. I wish i had photoshop to draw out the design but unfortunately i do not. I love the carbon fiber door panels but I going to try and go all out making new ones out of fiberglass. The door panels are going to be shaped quite a bit differently if all goes as planned. I cant stand the textured surfaces in the 350z interior so eventually it will all be gone. Thanks for all the pictures, I love the ideas you have thrown at me, it definitely contributes to my ideas.

You may have a career in upholstery work! Great work so far, can't wait to see the door panels. How do you plan on attaching the fiberglass panels to the door?

You've done some great work for a DIY project!

Piping would not have been my choice. Also, the carbon wrap on the radio trim is going the opposite direction from the rest. You should probably re-wrap that part since it's an easy one.

Thanks. As far as the door panels go i'm buying a second set of oem door panels then cutting out most of the center. From there ill wrap the door panels in fiberglass and hopefully change the shape a bit. After that ill have to figure out a way to wrap the panels and walla!?! Thats probably going to be a winter project over christmass break.

I am probably planning on rewrapping the center console in dinoc and then clear coating it. We think alike except for how glossy we like our carbon fiber. Lol

Ya I was just given a sewing machine, and am gettin back in the swing.
Made some different shift boots and a couple new e-brake handles, just 4 fun/practice.

Never gunna try seat covers tho. Although if I cut up my current ones and just copied the pieces it would be pretty easy I suppose.

Keep playin. Ur doin good. Can't wait to see ur door panels, maybe I'll be you to it.
