After you age a little more you'll be more respectful to people. It's easy to hide behind a computer and say what you will, but in person it would have went a completely different way. You'll grow up one day and see what I mean.

It would have gone down the exact same way in person.

Sure it would. I've been to three different countries where they all said the same thing and then lost. You're typical. But that's fine. Maturity comes with age. I know because I was like you once, except I was probably in the military at your age. So I understand why you're like this and I'm not hating you.
If there's anyone else on here in their 40's, they would say the same thing. We seem to forget that we were punks at one time too, lol.

...so I wouldn't give my honest opinion in person? I guess you would rather have sugar-coated-warm-and-fuzzies?
Ever thought about trying the 3M paint defender kit? It seems a bit tricky to apply so there are mixed results. The ones that did it properly seems to look decent. I have yet to pull the trigger.
Partially Tinted Tail Lights - Reflectors only - 2004 Roadster
Hello! Now before you jump to conclusions about me tinting my tail lights, I'm not really tinting the "light" part, rather the unnecessarily large triangle reflector. I'm not saying it looks bad, it definitely gives the Z a distinct rear end. I am just curious as to what it would look like blacked out.
While I could go to the store and buy tint or something removable like that, for now I am going to go with Plasti Dip. OH GOD! NO! THAT'S RICE! Excuse me while I enjoy my car and tweak things as I see fit, it's removable and it will fulfill my curiosity for now. While I think I would like a gloss black more, the matte gives me a good basis for what it would look like black.
After finishing the job, I REALLY like it. I went with 0% transparency and I got a nice, crisp line along the edge of the tint. I'm thinking that I actually like the matte more than I would like gloss. To the people that I have shown it to so far, they have really liked it. Let me know what you think, or if you have seen this before, but I have yet to see any photos of anything of the like. If you would like to know how I did it, the instructions are below the pictures.

You can tell how crisp/sharp the line of the Plasti Dip/tint is. I'm really happy with how it came out and I'm interested in how it holds up over time.
If you are interested in doing this yourself, its really easy. I removed my tail light to tint it, and I highly recommend you do the same; it not only saves time spent masking your car, but it also eliminates any chance over spray from getting on your car. To remove the tail light, there are three bolts (10mm) all under three caps, which can easily be popped off with a flat head. From there you simply pull it out, there was no glue or anything holding mine to the surrounding area. However, be careful, there are three little rubber washers/sticky things(highly technical term, I know) that prevent the plastic from rubbing on the metal body. There are one per bolt and a couple of mine came off while taking the lights off.
From there you simply twist the bulb housing to dislodge it from the casing and I let mine rest on a towel while I dipped the housings. To Plasti Dip mine, I taped off the areas I didn't want to paint, in my case it was just the triangle reflector part, then laid the housings down with the flat side facing straight up, to prevent dripping. I then put about five coats worth of paint down in quick succession, something you wouldn't normally do but for this you have to. Immediately after painting it, I pulled back the tape at a sharp angle so that I would get a nice and crisp line. I then let it dry about 30 minutes just to be safe. After they are dry, your good to put them back on just in reverse order of how you took them off. Also, if you live in a windy area like me or it's just really windy that day, I would suggest doing it in your garage. I was going to do it outside originally, but I moved into my third garage to prevent any particles off trees and the ground from getting on the wet paint and so it wouldn't smear or mess up the coats.

- Removing your tail light:
If you do this, please post some pictures, I'm interested to see how this looks on the coupe and other colors, especially black.
P.S. To my knowledge this isn't illegal. Nor would it cause any problems, seeing as how no light is blocked. I looked up my local laws and the only vehicles that are required to have reflectors are motorcycles and farm vehicles; last time I checked, my Z is neither, so I should be good there. Being that I have the roadster, it has the third brake light outside the top, I don't know if these are required or not, so would the tinting of these be illegal. Also, can you decrease images size?
To each his own. But why do you think that? Simply saying that it looks like "poot" doesnt help.
It just looks awkward. Nothing else on your car is matte black, it doesn't follow any natural line on the car and the resulting shape of the headlight is not attractive. But as you say, each to his own
I think that a gloss, semi-transparent tint that faded/blended from the reflector would have looked better, but still poot.
doh, got side tracked messing with my car last night

this... it just doesnt flow well... i dont like how the angle of the cut off isnt verticle, maybe you should have followed the trunk line or something.... and it reminds me of how girls are doing their eye shadow now days... that black line coming from the edge of their eye
what i would possibly do (but will be hard with your color being PPW) is get some vinyl that is as close to your color as possible and slap that on there.... at least then it wouldnt stick out like a sore thumb. its your car and this is just my opinion of course
