You can put any MT **** on a 5AT. You'll need to go to Lowes or Home Depot, and get some rubber tubing that will fit around the thin metal piece inside of the cylindrical metal piece of the shifter. You can then just wrap electrical tape around the outside of the tube until it's tight inside of the ****. You'll be able to just push down on the shifter to shift into gears. Oh, and you'll have to most likely trim down the cylindrical piece of metal around the shifter.

Momo makes a **** for it. I did this mod already I got a leather boot for it too for the full effect. It's not fun trying to get that ring to fit over the new boot though unless your willing to do some shaving and modding. I would take a pic but my car is in the shop an hour and a half away

I'd say if you want to pretend to drive a manual, just get a manual. this is lame. shift ****, sure, maybe you use shiftronic and would enjoy it, but the boot is just lame.

I know I will get flame for this one

I live in Hong Kong and the city is probably 1/10000000 the size of your state. Roads are poor and traffic is stupid. No point to drive a manual car when I am stuck on the road most of the time, plus my gf gotta drive this car too.

Oh well, one day, I've driven most of my desire cars already, the fairlady is more of a looker now

Thanks for the help so far, will try and post up some picture once I get more details

^it doesn't say only G35, but he did mention it's "specifically for G35".

will that still work for the Z? because i'm thinking of getting MOMO.

This thread takes me back to the '60s, when J C Whitney was selling a fake floor shifter that you could screw to the transmission tunnel. The ad actually said, IIRC:

Time your shifts to match those of your automatic transmission.

Sorry it's been a while since I checked this thread... I am pretty sure that my ***** will fit the Z's based on looking at the DIY of the shift **** install for Z's. IF anyone is interested in doing a test fit I will give them a killer deal.

Whats the point of this?

I switch shift ***** due to shift feel/grip.

Auto users switch ***** for... looking cool?

IMO I think we switch shift ***** not just for the looks but also for the feel. When using tiptronic my hand stays on the shift ****. Having a ball style shift **** just feels so much better than a big bulky shifter. Plus the ***** I made sit much lower and doesnt have a button sticking out of the side to activate it. So not only does it look better, it feels 100x better as well.

Momo makes a AT ****(check my vehicle photos).Since you are in Hong Kong, you may want contact The Tuning Shop.com.They are in the U.K.---have a great website.
They have shift boots to fit everthing you can think of.
Check the chrome accent ring around my shifter. This ring would work around a boot.
A 5" ring fits perfectly.
