new interior lighting
It's all easy, but the only concern is whether the needles are removable or not.
Some gauge clusters can do this while others don't. For example, my friend tried pulling the needle off to install Indiglo faces but ended up pulling out the shaft as well. This pretty much broke the motor and messed up the calibration.
Our gauge faces aren't really tinted. They're just printed amber on black.
Gauges that are white on black are easiest to change. I like the gauges for 00 Maximas and QX4s because the numbers are frosted/clear.
Here's what one can do with a white on black faced cluster:

I would have guessed they were LEDs to begin with. suprised one would blow. however Id take it to the dealer for service. if anything gets messed up, they are the only ones that would be able to get you a whole new gauge for free.
Lord i do not like the amber...someone needs to make another alternative...anyone see the interior of the LEXUS SUV the big one...i'm not sure what the model is..but the largest one. that's how it should have been grrr..
Okay... most cars come with incandescent bulbs. They're similar to 194 bulbs. They also have a blue condom over it to filter the light... cmon hyper white idea is old.
Most newer cars (like 03+ Hondas and Acuras) use LED cluster lighting.
Our cars are also LED, and they're amber lit. We need to get the part # for the LEDs and get the white kind. Direct replacement. However, don't expect it to get any brighter since the power configs were made for amber. White/blue LEDs require more power to get it brighter, but the differences is still noticible. These new LEDs are much more efficient than they were a few years ago.
The same goes for the gauge cluster... it might be a combination, though. Change the faces and we'll see from there. I doubt Luxeon lighting will work for your cars if it already comes with LEDs.

Below is a picture of the Luxeon modifaction I did to my friend's Civic.
