Default Veilside Ver 1 - Urethane vs FRP

I'm looking at buying VS Ver 1 kit, but i don't know which type of material I should go with. I don't want carbon fiber because I'll be painting it.

Which one is stronger out of these two? Urethane or FRP

Any advice out there.

Urethane is more durable, whereas fiberglass will crack if you scrape a lot or hit those parking stopping humps. the downside to urethane is that its heavier. i don't think anyone has had any problems with the fiberglass lip cracking or anything like that, but there is just a greater risk.

i have the urethane one and am very happy with it.

Actually there are a few guys on the forum who have cracked their V1 lip (fiberglass). The urethane lip is just a bit heavier and you can scrape it and bump it with no worries. Urethane... cheaper.. stronger.. !

if urethane is cheaper then by all means get it....i doubt you will ever crack an frp one..they are stronger than ppl make it out to be..plus its not that low to the ground

plus its much easier to paint FRP than it is urethane..but thats also not a big deal

Get urathane. The fiberglass version 1 and the CF version 1 lips has been known to crack. I had mine motified but it still has a bit of cracking around the flex points.

Urathane is better its only a tiny bit heavier, paint sticks to it better, and it doesnt crack. Fiberglass bumpers and lips are more prone to chipping from road debris.

Uranthane is the way to go. I had a uranthene kit on my old car a toyota Celica for two years. No cracking or chipping what so ever.

I had a full fiberglass kit before that on the same car and it was a ***** to keep it looking good. It got chipped from road debris instantly. I had it paited twice and then ditched it for a uranthane front bumper.

Go uranthane you won,t be sorry.

i also agree go urethane. fiberglass sucks. it chips easily and its hard to keep paint on. i would get the urethane because it is more flexible and more durable.
