Yea that one looks better and more to the scale of the car, but I'd have to cut a large amount of the bracing out and that would leave it pretty thin close to the edges. I might just do it, what's the worst that could happen, me having to buy another hood lol...sorry to jack your thread blue350zed!

Can't wait to see what it looks like when you're done! Any chance you can just cut the surface sheet metal then fill the space in with a wire mesh to cover the supports (visually) underneath but still leave functional cooling and looks? I admit I've not played with it at all, so I have no real idea... I just figured this was an alternative if you weren't wanting to cut the supports at all. If you think it'll still be strong enough even if the supports are cut, then have at it and I'll shut my mouth.

Lookin' forward to the outcome!

Yea, kinda nervous about cutting the supports, and haven't done it yet. A goddamn HR hood aint cheap. I could just put some kinda screen under the vents, but I'm sure you'd still see it and to me that wouldn't look too good either. But then thinkin about it, I don't think that much support is needed. There's plenty underneath the hood.

Love the hood but idk about that style of vents. The Asuka angeled vents are sexy. Just add a fusion stlye front scoop and that would be perfect.

You can always spray the "top" side of the supports a flat black? Either way, if there's plenty, just have at it. Nobody's tried... such is the life of a pioneer! Even if it doesn't work out... it could be just the motivation you needed to pull the trigger on another aftermarket hood you've had an eye on. However... I'm holding out in hopes someone does and it turns out awesome.

Totally off topic, but what kind of animal skins are hanging on your wall? LOL I keep trying to figure out what they are... they look exotic like antelope or something. Are you a safari hunter? Lol anyways hood looks good!

Babies happen and not much me time lmao...I actually destroyed a de hood for practice.

Anyways for the hands on members!

What if I cut the vents out but leave the bottoms side of the vent. So I can Ben the it into the good like a flap and not a complet vent. Almost like a guide?

All inouts of any degree of criticism welcome

If I think I know what your talking about, you would bend the hood up trying to do this.

Put a straight edge on the plane you want to bend , see how straight it actually is. If it is not straight, what will happen as it is bent.

I want to have some 45 degree bent AL set up by some friends of mine in Fab, then rivet them into the hood.

This is my placement since the HR hood doesn't give the same guide lines as a DE hood

And this is what I plan to do..since I'm no racecar driver and my car runs super cool already...over time I may hate a complete vent cutout.

Inputs please....I sat and went over all the photos....

Thanks for the inputs here and on Instagram...

I placed them there because it's where it is on a de hood roughly. Also air would hit the intake pipe/TB head on and hopefully since I have the engine bay plastic back in should head down the turns tunnel?

Need more scientist impressions
