Default Centre console trimming - possible?

I'm looking at the possibility of trimming the centre console (not the bit with dials and stereo, the bit under your elbow) in leather.

Has anyone tried it? I've trimmed simple bits of plastic before to good effect (e.g. door pockets on previous car), but the switches and compartments on the Z console make this job a lot trickier.

Any ideas on feasibility and tips out there?

Thanks

Thanks for the bump Ragtopz

Actually your ashtray lid idea is cool. One of the trickier areas to trim will be the heated seat switches because they are in a dip. I was trying to think how to handle it. You've got me going down a new line of thinking now. Maybe I can put a lid on it (some of you must be hoping I would - is that an expression stateside?).
