I've had my Z tinted since 2005 and I just noticed its kind of purple at some angles. From a far its black but closely theres a slight purple. You can only see this on the rear window. The two small side windows are black still. Is there something on Z's rear widnow that gives it the color or do I just need some new tint?

 

The rear one is the most one exposed to sun, same as front, the small side quarter not exposed.. That's it

Old tint smells funny...

 

Most tint shops give a lifetime warranty on the tint. You might check with the shop that did the installation and they might take care of you.

 

Mine is turning purple too, i think i'm going to retint it 50% all around or just remove the tint completely once i install the roll bar

 

Since his tint turned into purple, then I assume it's not the kind of tint that comes with any warranty. But wait 6 years and the shade didnt even change? Lucky you, here in Dubai, it's a must to change the tint almost every summer (talking about 53C/127F )

 

Don't clean with Windex. This is why they turn purple.

Mine are still black as night.

 

I read some where it's the ammonia in the Windex or other window cleaner that turns it purple also.

 

Use Stoner Invisible Glass.
