Favorite Z Body Kit
Hi Everyone!
New to the forums and glad to be here. I've been a Z owner for a little over a year now and falling more and more in love with this car every day. Perhaps I've turned into a bit of a fanboy, but I would take this car over a 370 anytime. Bang for buck, I just cant seem to beat it.
So, just to appease the Gods on this forum, I've taken some time to read through the frequently asked questions, owners manuals, etc. Lots of information out there, more than I can probably keep track of and understand (I'm a car newbie in terms of upgrades/specs). I basically saw my Z, fell in love with the black convertible and bought it.

The link I posted above is the Veilside mod. You'll notice it as the kit used in Fast and Furious: TD. I want to have some fun with this car...even pondering upgrading to a newer year. My present one is a '04 20,000 miles...looking at perhaps getting an '05 or '06.
For the pure love of random feedback, I wanted to hear what experiences/views you all had on these body kit mods in general. Good stories? Bad experiences? Is there a mod out there that has a solid look coupled with a great pricetag? We're not talking ROI here...this is purely for fun.
At any rate, as I said, I'm pretty new to the car community. Glad I found this forum and happy to be here. Cheers everyone!

Get a 07 or 08
the vailsode body kit is very hard to pull off and u will have to dump serious $$$ into it to get it perfect. Assuming ur doing everything the "correct" way. Personally the nismo v2 &v3 are my favorites. But to get authentic nismo kits, it's pretty expensive. That's my .02

It's fiber glass so rock chips are

To be honest, I feel the veilside kit is ugly and looks dated.
I would say Nismo v3 but they have that rediculous rear bumper that looks so out of place on the car. I actually like the front bumper of the veilside kit. I've seen it once or twice with Nismo v1 sides and it looks very tasty.

Everyone and their little sister rocks the nismo 1&2... I suppose that is the kit of choice? OP sounds like he wants to be different.
I heard veilside's components cost uber amounts of $$$ and most of the time they are made to order w/a waiting period. I thought veilside usa was no longer around?
I had the v3 replica wing, then I joined the forum and I was saved by the good word; no rice.
IMO lip kits is where its at. They add to the body lines and the curves of our cars very well, w/out going too over the top. Only thing that sucks about the CF is getting them clear coated to help maintain the shiny effect.
Lastely, body kits are meant to be complimented w/ good offsets, possible wing, stance...etc. If your gunna do it, do it right.

Great advice everyone, I really appreciate the feedback.
Weez, you're exactly right...I was hoping for a bit of a different look. The lip kit idea is actually something I never really thought of/looked into. Anything you'd recommend on that? I completely agree if it's worth doing, it's worth doing right...I just need to make sure what I buy is top notch and of the right grade/quality.
I work for an insurance company. My approach: the more simplistic you make driving, the better chance you'll have at reducing frequency and severity of accidents. Thus, I only drive automatic. What's that, you say I'm boring? Yeah, I'll agree (haha).
Anyone have some good sources they've went through for these kits?
And while we're at it...has anyone redone their interior? I've seen some crazy pics of Z's w/ altered cabins.

If you work for an insurance company you should know that the manual drivers are less likely to get in an accident. A big chunk of accidents are related to distractions like txting/talking on the cell/eating etc... which are much easier to accomplish when driving an automatic.
Personally, I think some of these just look absolutely sick!

Only thing is...gotta get someone that really knows what they're doing to install it. Price wise, it's pretty much in line with what we'd expect to pay I suppose.
On the insurance bit...you'd be surprised, but statistically, texting/talking on phone/etc is pretty uniform (whether auto or manual) in relation to claims. But as a disclaimer, I just mentioned automatic only because it's what I prefer, thus making any nismo models a moot issue for myself. But I'll admit...they sure are sexy!

Authentic Nismo body parts get my vote. You can't really go wrong with a combination of V1, V2, V3 bumpers with Nismo V1, V2 sides, and Nismo rears. My favorite is the Nismo V2 bumper, Nismo V1, V2 sides, or Ings N1 sides, and Nismo rears.

Voltex. My $.02.
If you decide to buy knock-off stuff, be sure to do some searching first. Some fit good, some don't...from what I hear. Look around, there's a million different options for the Zed. Check out some of these sites below.

Have to admit, these do-luck kits are amazing. I tried to find a website for them but it's all in Jap (another language); haha. Any sources you guys use?
Installing this is definitely going to take a toll...I'm almost afraid of finding out the cost for that.

I've always liked the TK front as well as the Airwalker front and sides combo...the Veilside kit is dated. I love my Chargespeed Bottomline Carbon lip. I have a Do-Luck but I wish there was a Carbon Diffuser that would work with it... I'm trying to get Strafe to help me out in designing one but...... sadly nothing has happened yet.
