Default Seat covers to protect from dog

I have a dog and don't want to ruin my leather seats.

Anyone have any suggestions? Or solved a similar problem?

I just went to the local swap meet and bought a cheap fabric seatcover that I'd use when the dog traveled with me.

if you dont care how it looks, then just go to goodwill and buy a bedspread and wrap it around your seat. otherwise, like thesmoothdome said, just buy a cheap set of seat covers. or those neoprene ones if you take your dog to the beach.

i was thinking of just getting one of those cheap Pep Boys seat covers made to fit a 87 civic but i thought my dogs nails might still scratch up the leather.

neoprene might be the answer.

Do your dog a favor, leave him at home. If you have an accident then either the air bag or the trip through the winshield will kill him. Dogs don't wear seat belts. Think about it. If you want to take your dog, get an SUV. Hate to be a buzz kill and I know dogs attract chicks but I've seen a friend in this movie and another guy that rolled his Suburban in another accident that I came up on. It's a bad deal even if you're just going down to the 7/11.

in my other car i use a neoprene seat cover as well as a dog seatbelt harness (e-bay) to keep him safe. i have yet to get a scratch and he rides to work with me 2 times a week. he's 70lbs so he's not light on the seats
