Question Clear coating head lights......

Hey guys I may be sending my car off to get fully painted this week or next. I wanted to take advantage of this situation.

I personally dont like the newer head lights, I like the older ones which I have. I replaced one and then the other got yellow, then I replaced that one and the other one got yellow. I dont want to buy a new pair, I have done the buffing stuff sold at auto zone and it works well for about 6 months before doing it again.

My question is, since the car will be in the shop getting pained if they buffed both head lights and clear coasted them, would that work? or with time it will look like ****?

Would a head light haze and turn yellow if you use a overlay like Batmobile product in clear or tint?

thank you for your time

I have a friend that has a body shop and his light were getting yellow as well and he sanded them down with 600 grit paper and then put a couple of coats of clear on them. He even pulled this headlights and fog lights off his truck and mixed a dab of black in and smoked those lights. They look brand new as if he just bought them.

wet sand and buff.

you coud get them cleared but no matter what paint booth is used it will probably scatch dirt.
