Default harness bar and harnesses

I am looking into a harness bar and harnesses. Im planning on going to a few track day but my Z is still primarily a DD. Im not sure if this is a good idea due to the fact that my Z isnt a full time track car and the safety for myself when im on the streets. Does anyone have some insight on this subject?

my brother has takata harness and a sparco harness bar in his car for his DD and loves it since a seat belt use to mess up his suit; As long as it is installed right you will safer than a seat belt, unless its a roll over then its anyone game since you do not have a full cage

I'd pass on the harness. You can get a bolt-in roll bar with little effort.

Have you ever sat in the seat with a helmet on? Regardless, you may want to consider a seat with side-mounted sliders since they (can) sit lower.

I have heard bad things about bolt in roll cages. I was debating getting one but they dont pass very many inspections for competitive racing i thought...

After asking around a bolt in cage just started to look like a pretty pointless mod...

Afterall, a ROLL cage is pretty pointless when it shoots straight out of the bottom the car lol :

Here is the article i got the pic from: http://culturegarage.com/article/bol...oll_cage_fail/

Nothing wrong with bolt in cages, many are NASA approved. Inexperienced drivers are more dangerous than cages will ever be.

I wouldn't run a cage or harnesses in a DD.

yea my car being a DD is the thing that is stopping me. If it was a track car, i would just weld in a cage. I will probably just pass on the idea (Form < Function)...but harness do look cool lol

The only advantage from a DD with a bolt in cage is the fact that you can remove it...however it still poses the same general "danger" involved with a weld-in cage in normal traffic...

Even with padding on the cage, any nice amount of impact can do some damage to your head if you make contact with the cage without a helmet...
