Default Center gauge question.

Can you swap out the two gauges(oil and volt) with aftermarket ones and still leave the data gauge stock?

it would be a ***** since the data is connected to the same circuit board. you would have to remove the data lcd and extend the leads. I tried it and broke a couple of the pins and gave up and installed an obdII gauge

Can be done but no easily. Depends on how much time you want to invest in the project. I thought about doing this also but decided not to.

I replaced my volt meter with the display from my STi-R radar detector. (then set the display to show vehicle voltage.

Here's a pick I took when I repainted my dash. It shows a little of what you are dealing with.

The volt meter had it's own PCB, so I wasn't too worried about messing up the data gauge PCB.

It looks as though you could have some issues with space for the center gauge. I don't know the dimensions of the gauges you want to use, but the STi-R display was only ~.5" deep and fit easily between the face of the existing gauge and the plastic cover.

To ensure, I didn't "confuse the stock data gauge, I left the stock voltmeter connected and just cut the needle off. -Probably wasn't necessary.
