Hi,
i have a question about the black thing inside of the 05 headlights.
What exactly does the black thing do?
Some parts of the black paint(?) is bubbling up so i want to paint it either chrome, gloss black or satin black if it plays no role.

 

admittingly I dont know but i would guess to keep light from reflecting too much into oncoming traffic.

 

At the bottom? I don't think it does anything... all the light comes from the projector and from the sides of it in the reflector part of the headlamp. It is just there for looks.

 

Its a common problem with 03-05 headlights, here is a headlight that I modified a few months ago...I took some before pictures of the "problem" so I wont get blame for it...

Since that black thing is JUST there, just paint it chrome?

 

The black glossy finish...as it gets near the end, its all roasted like burned from the bottom.
