Looking at the circuit again, I think you can just leave the signal wire from the cam-operated switch disconnected, and the switch on the stalk will turn the circuit on/off OK.

You might even be able to use the signal wire that goes to the wiper auto-stop switch for a second way to turn the circuit on. The circuit should be turned on whenever that wire is grounded. You could have a switch on the stalk and one somewhere else to control the same thing.
It all makes sense now. Thanks a bunch!

I will post pics of whatever I do with the switch this winter when I do the wiper delete.

So, what did you end up connecting to the switch?

One of the things that annoys me most about the design of the cabin is where they placed the VDC/TCS switch, I hate the way I have to feel for it and have thought about moving it to where the blank is by the heated seat switches (so I can switch it on/off accidently with my elbow). Could the wiring for this switch be sited to the rear wiper stalk?
If you have headlight washers why not delete that switch and connect the wires so they fit in the rear wiper stalk, that would then tie it in with your windscreen wipers?
