Default Mastergrade Wide Body Install Advice

Im new to the site and im actually deployed in IRAQ this trip and i ordered a MG KIT for my car in march. Im sure its already been talked about on here but does anyone know how much of a pain its going to be to mold it all in. the kit lines up perfect i rough fit it on before i left and its SICK, but a little advice never hurts and im stationed at FORT BRAGG, and dont know any shops to even help with the finish works.

And i just installed a Greddy TT kit on it in my storage unit that i have to get tuned, BUT thats another story lol

yeah i installed it and its hard to find anyone to work on the Emanage kit, everyone says its a garbage manage kit but the military barely pays me enough to put gas in the car let alone another 200$ on a manage kit, with a manual boost controller its got alot of power, and it sounds good but i blew a Greddy Type RZ blow off walve so i ordered a HKS now hopefully it works better.

You have the kit in your possession? They were banned from the forum for scamming several members so hopefully you aren't waiting for them to make you a kit.

The only thread that I could find that even has anything included with it is this one:

yeah i got it like less than a week after i ordered it from expresseurokits.net there really nice and helpful, i dry fitted the sideskirts and front clip and they fit perfect im more worried about how much molding im gonna have to do on the rear courters since i do my own work its gonna be a learning experience and ill record it ( LIKE I SHOULD HAVE RECORDED MY TT INSTALL IN A STORAGE UNIT WITH A HEADLAMP AND A FLASHLIGHT LOL )

the only molding you will really need to work on is the Rear Quarters and door extensions. You will need to cut the rear quarter fenders if you want the kit to be used at its full potential and allow clearance for larger wheels that will sit flush with your kit. You may need to do some work on the front bumper near the headlights as this is where most of the problem on the Asuka and Mastergrade body kits from what Ive seen in person and in pictures. Mostly the headlight area has a gap toward the bottom of the lights.

yeah but im not gonna cut the rear fenders off cause it will effect the structure of the car meaning more welding and reinforcement of the frame by me lol im gonna rol them up and get as much room as i need, but im stationed in NC and the driveways all over town are not low car friendly so im 3 1/2" off the ground now so i dont plan on going any lower and with 19x10 rims and 275 on the back already i may go with a 305 at most and stretch tham across like the old drag cars but not to worried about clearances, i just need to get really good a fiber glassing before i tackle this

you really need to cut it, its a simple deal. widebody w lame wheel stance is no bueno. you cut multiple slits up from the fender edge to where the innder fender liner sits.. ben d them in or out, tack a few, trim off the flange you have just made, and then weld fully. Its not necessarily structural, but youll want it welded to keep your molding and bodywork from getting more cracks in it etc.. I dont know about molding the kit tho man. I like the fact that i can replace parts on my car if damaged or the car needs work.

Its been a godsend.

yeah i thought about just pretapping the kit and mounting it and filling the holes but even then getting another one of these kits if anything does even happen to it is gonna be a PAIN... so go big or go home illl def do that cut and roll tactic though gonna be a work in progress for a few weeks lol... UNDER CONSTRUCTION oh well let people hate if they wanna talk F&*$ UM

i rolled my car in PIECES for a whole summer.. as we did my kit.
I didnt mold a thing. i think it looks way better w the SS hex security hardware.
Heres some ruff shots.
No i didnt do the cut, as theres no reason by way of physics of a wheel to cut so high up when the bolt holes are where they are.. it was re cut and rewelded later on in a more radiused curve..

^ Never really been a fan of the wide body version of this kit....but yours sir, was done right. and OP I agree with bmccann, once you start playing with fiberglass and molding, things become harder and harder to fix. For example if you crack you front bumper, it may spread to your fender from the stress of driving around with it like that. Then to fix the bumper it would need to be removed from the fenders after its been molded.

Thnx man. Its getting nicer as we speak ...kinda.

Rivets on wheels r cool, just use dope hardware. No black rusted screws. I've already had all fenders off twice and the fr end off since install.. dont mold. Its not for driven cars...trailer queens only.

hahah cause FORT BRAGG SUCKS and they shut ours down, i do all of it outta my storage unit and i have all my tools there already so i manage. i cant see the pics you posted it makes me mad just little squares with red X can you send them to my email instead so i can look when i get a chance. yeah i see the open bolt holes on most cars i just wanna do mines custom. thinking about putting the latch locks on the fron clip beside the headlight to take it off easier, the rear quarters would be the only thing i mold in since if i mess them up its gonna be a big boo boo anyways lol and the door panels didnt come with the kit i got so i called the guy and when i get back hes gonna send them to me

thanks for all the comments on the subject and the more pics the better i like to learn and see everyones body work
